Yeah, PBS airs some fictional/scripted content, but it mostly seems to be stuff like Downton Abbey, I guess because it's more sophisticated and intellectual, higher quality, you're enriched by watching it. Loved Keeping up Appearances back in the day. But Attack on Titan?

Fair enough. I'll have to find something else to do. Got some games to play and a DVR backlog. Definitely these days we have the opposite problem of "I'm bored" with too much entertainment to keep up with and having to be selective. That's the thing about Toonami, though. It comes on live TV so it kind of makes me watch it right away. Plus I'm so used to watching it on Saturday's for years. There has been the odd occasion where I had to watch it recorded, though! Still the week feels a little empty without Toonami.

Yeah but we've seen people fight Sharingan users without resorting to such extreme lengths. A different kind of evil, sure. Like we said, Danzo was interesting and had potential. The episode Toonami aired Saturday had a ton of recap! And what wasn't recap, not a lot happened. Not a good sign. The end to the good pacing?

I thought the implication was Vegeta couldn't be controlled and pretended to follow Babidi's orders so he could fight Goku. He even resists orders later. And really, you think Dabura, the literal Devil, was a good guy at one point? He also turns against Babidi as well. And that's not exactly how his powers work. Vegeta was ripe for the picking because of how pissed off he was getting when they were fighting Babidi's minions in his spaceship. Babidi specifically chose Vegeta when he noticed this. How has he lost honor or become weak? He's on equal footing with Goku now, which was never true in the past.

Voltron is cool as a robot design but I never really liked the show as a kid. Compared to Transformers it was basic as fuck. The other shows you mentioned were more fun and interesting too. Also, Robotech, that blows Voltron out of the water.

Who has less understanding of human anatomy? Oda, or Rob Liefield? I wouldn't really say the 4Kids dub was too out of character for One Piece. If anything it just exaggerates it a bit. The show already has juvenile moments and childish humor, fart jokes, no less. It's already lighthearted and silly. It's a shame Luffy didn't rescue Nami's mom from Impel Down LOL. But, Oda still pussed out of killing characters countless times. Like with the bird guy in Alabasta, that felt like something 4Kids could have put in. He wouldn't even kill off the Franky Family fodder. You want to tell me the big bad Buster Call killed NOBODY? At the same time, the hefty emotional depths and dark moments you talked about, and the overall heart and quality of the series still shone through the 4Kids dub, at least for me. I took to it from day one, and the fact that it combined two of my loves, anime, and pirates, didn't hurt. Though I admit that version is a lot worse than I remember, with nostalgia goggles removed, when I saw clips when Toonami picked it back up, though I still prefer the original Zoro voice actor. I think if people didn't take to the 4Kids dub, they wouldn't take to One Piece at all, because the same stuff that turns them off there would turn them off with a more proper localization, even if toned down a bit.

I would call it blonde, maybe a sandy blonde, or the gold equivalent to silver anime hair. But we know it's not supposed to be silver because the Silvas are the silver-headed people and Asta's hair doesn't look like theirs at all.
