Mahoujin Guruguru (2017) 1 - 2 I wasn't sure after the first episode but I guess I got used to its style/tone, or it grew on me, or something else because the second actually managed to make me laugh out loud which really doesn't happen much anymore, and twice no less. A very Bobobo-esque random series, but with a more cutesy general tone and character designs. Also slightly reminiscent of Goma-chan and Mainichi Kaasan. Which makes sense considering this is a remake of a 90s series and Goma-chan is too. Will certainly check out more whenever the desire comes.

With little fanfare it's episode 32 this week, "Everyone's Internships." And as promised in the aftermath of Hero Killer Stain's rampage we got a largely anime-only expanded look at some of the less prominent Class 1-A students out in the field. Complete with some unique new characters. And the results were...interesting I'd say. I won't ever complain about getting to see more Uraraka. Ditto Tsuyu and Jiro among others. Not really alot else to say though. A fun, cute episode. Our students remain well on their way to becoming heroes!

With all that said...it's episode 31 this week, "The Aftermath of Hero Killer Stain," adapting the second half of chapter 56 and 57 from volume 7 of the original source manga. Stain has been captured, with Endeavor getting the credit. And the very...interesting...looking Hosu Chief of Police explains why to Young Midoriya, Todoroki and Iida in the hospital. Talk about a crazy design...he's a dog. That's it, just a dog. I liked the bit of world building going on in this scene, and throughout the episode really. Plus his personal little showing of appreciation towards the boys was genuinely touching. Back to that world building though, Stain may be apprehended, but the world has taken notice of his ideology. And several new characters with interesting designs of their own have sprung up to potentially take up his cause...or just inflict mayhem and destruction. Really it's all laid out rather nicely, and ominously with Gran Torino's phone call with All Might. And speaking of ominous....All For One eh? Deeply connected with All Might and his master? Ooh I can't wait to see where we go from here!

I've actually watched like 8 or so Hitchcock films I'd never seen before on TCM last month. Off the top of my head: Strangers on a Train - 8/10 Dial M For Murder - 7.5/10 Rope - 8.5/10 The Man Who Knew Too Much(1956) - 8.5/10 Rear Window - 9.5/10 Vertigo - 8/10 The Trouble With Harry - 8.5/10 North By Northwest - 8.5/10 To Catch A Thief - 7/10 And...uhhh maybe some I'm forgetting. For as great as it is considered I found Vertigo to be my least favorite of the 4 Jimmy Stewart Hitchcock collaborations. Too depressing which I guess is a weak criticism considering I thoroughly enjoyed much grislier stuff like Rope and Psycho, but oh well. Rear Window was thoroughly fantastic and I loved the music and kidnapped son aspects of Man Who Knew Too Much. I just wish it didn't end so abruptly with mother and child's reunion effectively a brief afterthought, but abrupt endings are pretty common Hitchcock apparently. To Catch A Thief felt like more boring Lupin or James Bond stuff...even if it does predate them. North By Northwest was much better. Speaking of predating Dial M with its very dialogue heavy scenes reminded me of a longer Detective Conan episode. The Trouble With Harry surprised me. A very relaxing/soothing film though one I'd probably only watch once every 3 or 4 years. The beautiful fall colors and atmosphere was highly appealing as well. I also watched Psycho and am about to watch The Birds but I've already seen them both before. I plan to watch his last 5 films over the next week or two to come.

And at the same time adding a little extra is nice.

I'm reading reports that next Saturday's episode will be an anime-only episode titled "Everyone's Workplace Experience." August 12th's episode that is. Could be interesting.

Cool, but I already own it.
