I think you're referring to Double-Edge Endeavor is a physical move that leaves your opponent with the same amount of HP as you do. So if you have 1HP and use the move, your opponent, regardless of defense or typing other than Ghost (It's a normal type move, after all.) will be reduced to 1HP. Curse my recent knowledge of competitive Pokemon battling...
