It is very much a product of its time, especially in regards to what groups they joke about, so I'd go in with that in mind.

I can't say I know too much about what Ste7en Foster did with the Chevalier dub - I'd been meaning to check it out myself but never found the chance to bite the bullet with it - but whatever he did to it, chances are good it wasn't as unchecked in levels of Fosterization as Ghost Stories was. But again, that's just my conjecture, so don't take my word for it. Durarara!! 14
