dr. stone Dr. Stone Episode #42 (307) Discussion
PokeNirvash replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
First we had the Big Occident, then Eureka severeD, and after that Sword Art Offline. We need a name for this fuck-up. It's practically a contractual obligation.- 116 replies

Of the four Gundam series I've seen to completion, Origin is my favorite, with IBO as my favorite non-UC.

I like Jackson's cancellation message more than Doc's, personally. Had to quit halfway through reading it 'cause it was getting a little overbearing... I doubt Demarco's doing any of the writing on any of the new originals, or even some of the ones we've already seen. The writing issues in those were either due to the animation team scrapping and reworking a script to their benefits (FLCL Progressive & Alternative), the head writer being a complete novice who had never written an official script before (Fena), or their being unsuited to the anime medium (Housing Complex C, created by a visual novel scenario writer). Come to think of it, that last one does sound like a Demarco problem...

Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier

Alternative was a serviceable sequel. Progressive, not so much. But there's no beating the OG, and Toonami knows it. 12:00 - My Adventures With Superman #3 - My Interview with Superman - TV-PG 12:30 - Dr. Stone: New World #6 - Treasure Box - TV-PGL 12:30 - Dr. Stone: New World #7 - Ray of Despair, Ray of Hope - TV-14L 1:00 - FLCL #1 - Fooly Cooly - TV-14D 1:30 - One Piece #623 - It's Time to Say Goodbye! Hearing that the band behind the Death Parade OP is doing this show's theme felt like getting hit by a bus. Couldn't find a link for this show's OP so here's the news to prove I'm not talking out my ass: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2023-05-19/bradio-performs-reborn-as-a-vending-machine-i-now-wander-the-dungeon-anime-opening-song/.198227

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead 1 Ms. Vampire Who Lives in My Neighborhood 4 Chiller Ani-Wednesdays would be proud.

Eh, I'd rewatch it, if only for Tsuru-sensei's episodes. Ani-Monday was a fun block of wildly varying quality that I have a lot of nostalgia for, as well as a bunch of fun little anecdotes regarding. The unbleeped S-bomb in Descendants of Darkness (and that show's homoeroticism in general). The two-hour block of Gundam 00 premieres near the end of season 1 that had both a cavalcade of shocking moments and what my uncle considers one of the most unintentionally hilarious, involving phallic-looking drink pouches and the phrase "Just what I needed!". My attempted go at hypothetical edit lists for various anime and movies on the SyFy per their unique standards, including Berserk, Elfen Lied, GANTZ, DearS, Paprika, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Divergence Eve, Paranoia Agent and Requiem from the Darkness - the latter of which SyFy actually wound up airing! That one dude who thought the TV-14DLSV rating for episode 4 of Requiem meant "naked Ogin" and not "it's an abstract kind of parental incest". And, of course, Three Fabulous Weeks of Chiller Ani-Wednesdays, which kicked off my current trend of watching (and actually liking!) anime I vowed never to watch for petty reasons. I expect to renege that vow on Oshi no Ko one of these days...

Anyone have an AS show they hated but changed their mind on later?
PokeNirvash replied to Jman's topic in ASMB 20th Reunion
Neat but not what the thread was asking. I can't remember ever growing out of love with any [as] show, but I remember season 4 of the Boondocks getting progressively worse and worse with every episode I watched. I haven't even seen the last two, and that's probably definitely a good thing. Also, Robot Chicken's gotten kinda meh with time. I can't remember ever growing into love with any [as] show, but I really came around to 12 oz. Mouse once I decided to watch past the first episode. Forget Rick & Morty, this is the one you need a big brain IQ to appreciate. -

Remember when the biggest problem with union dubs were that it meant Steve Blum and Crispin Freeman couldn't be in Bleach? I yearn for those simpler times.

Only 'cause they used the phrase "cockblocking". Bleep that out, you've got an easy TV-14 on your hands.
