That's anime studios for you. Often the schedules for TV are so impossibly tight, animators work around the clock in stressful overnight shifts, and the episodes are often completed within the hour prior to airing! Then they have time to improve the work for the home release.

Any reasoning for that?

The pacing of long-running shonen anime is frustrating. They're so EASY to live-comment, because I can literally type for 20 minutes while only looking up to the screen for a few times and NOT miss ANYTHING!

Toonami got the DVD versions. The broadcast version's animations were even worse!
