You do realize most of the anime that otaku watch ALSO air in the wee hours of the night? The timeslots aren't too different from Toonami's.

Heh. I kinda called it when Black Clover eventually would be moved later in the night. It's just not a good show.

381,000 Granted, they only calculate all the half-hour ratings into one average number for movies. Maybe it started off higher? Regardless, DB Super didn't even break a million, which doesn't surprised me given how this is a holiday weekend AND a line-up literally no one but the Toonami crew knew about, but we know that anytime that happens it makes the rest of the block look worse. Black Clover had surprisingly better retention though! And 500K+ is great for a sub-only ep!

Other notes - Rerunning Countdown and Scavengers was Mike Lazzo's idea. - Making everything on Toonami Japanese was also Lazzo's idea. - MIND GAME came about because Toonami had never, or barely, worked with GKids prior to last weekend, and GKids said they had it available, and Jason and Gill both love the movie. It airing the same year as Devilman Crybaby was probably a coincidence. GKids now owns pretty much all the North American rights to Ghibli movies, so this is good to open a relationship with them in case Toonami ever wants to air Ghibli movies again. - DeMarco doesn't know if Adult Swim will manage a sale for The Pillows' new music.

DeMarco was bored so he answered a few Toonami-related and music-related questions. No major news was announced, but he did share some previously-unknown bits of trivia.

Saw a promo. One big reason they were able to run MiND GAME was because it's coming out on Blu-ray this year, and the ad also plugged its availability on VRV!

I went to bed midway through MIND GAME because i was getting tired, I already saw the movie before, and because the line-up wasn't announced beforehand I assumed they wouldn't go back to the normal schedule after that. So I didn't get to see the episode and this Saturday will be my first time for it.

With the first episode of Alternative airing last weekend in Japanese for April Fool, we now at least have a vague idea of how the sequels will feel. And I know you have worries. I have worries. But we must remember that even though you may wind up liking them after they air completely, they're not going to be the same as the original because they do not have the entire original crew members on it, it lacks the lasting timelessness we nurtured from the OVAs, and then there's the whole argument about how these sequels aren;t actually as demanded as DeMarco claims it is. This video sums up many of the reasons why these changes will occur. This may be been linked here on the forum before but it's good to post it as a reminder.

1. I called it. They will rerun FLCL 01 before the premiere of 2. 2. Airing it at 11:30 is a shock! Not only do I consider it way too risque for that time of the night, but they're going to shuffle the rest of the block AGAIN?? I mean this guarantees that the DBZ shows won't be affected because they're the untouchable DBZ shows, but man are they asking for it! Maybe this is why they ran double Bebop.

... oh. I assumed this was the one in June. So I didn't get the NAMES mixed up. I got the DATES mixed up! Maybe I was going by what was in the Japanese trailer.

And remember it seems like FLCL Progressive in September WON'T have elements of CGDCT! So it's not all that.
