same with Facade. the only real reason we're using Dark Don as the default is that it's the only theme that all the features work on. It's not an aesthetic thing. It's a functionality thing.

blackbox was the original theme we went with. we shifted to this other one for the default because all the features we're using don't show up on Blackbox.

there aren't any - like even halfway decent SMF themes. they all kind of suck. but - I disagree "bland". I think the problem with most of them is they're too "designy" like - people are all "alternating dark and light grey - NOW people will love me". I still am hoping to find a way to render a theme like the Proboards theme that's basically unobtrusive. so - I agree the themes for SMF are all shit. but I disagree that "bland" is a bad thing. I want the theme to be functional and easy to use. Not - like some distracting thing in and of itself. I want a theme that people don't notice, but still want to use because it's simple and does its job.
