Pretty much. Already expected some people would go in hating it and nothing could win them over even if it ended up good. They would nitpick everything to hell. There was never going to be a consensus on this one given how beloved the original is. Admittedly I know I probably won't be harsh enough on it lol since I'm just hoping it's decent and can keep improving as it goes.

Oh they're still doing the two repeat eps each of both Naruto and Jack after Toonami and not just one each? Probably won't stay up for that most weeks, but figured that would change after last week's moving the clocks. That hype music when Naruto undoes the gate on Nine Tails.

Unpopular opinion probably, but overall I thought it looked pretty good. Yeah the character models on their own are merely decent (Elle's is the best so far thanks to seeing some of those rather expressive facial expressions later in the two eps and how she looks with all the extra shadowing and lighting), but they seem to blend in pretty well and I thought the environment (and touches like all the moving fog, etc.), materials, and objects looked quite good and the lighting and shadows are pretty strong.

Yeah, they've done some good work, I also liked their underrated work on their solo show Bubuki Buranki, had some Kill la Kill flair to it thanks to sharing KLK's art director. Also for cell-shaded stuff like that I quite liked Graphinica's work on Expelled From Paradise at the time. At the time they made some nice improvements on the current work on the style as they actually started experimenting with something like squash and stretch to start making it more dynamic like traditional anime which they've continued to use in their later work. For this smoother more purposefully CG style more like Black Lotus two of the best looking so far I recall are Harlock: Space Pirate and Kingsglaive and/or Gantz:0. Lupin the Third: The First was also pretty good looking recently.
