Really excited about this great news that I just randomly stumbled across with no idea about when the new trailer suddenly came up on the side of Youtube and shocked the hell out of me LOL.
Dai Sato back as full writer, Kenichi Yoshida (and not as just a guest designer/guest animation director on like 2 eps), and Naoki Sato for the music all returning are what gives me hope that this time it's indeed aiming for the original work's feeling, characters, expressiveness, music, and themes for the remake trilogy.
And if they really do intend to recapture that feeling, and the remembered and loved versions of the characters from the original series, in this remake (even if some parts are redone in a fresh way) then I'm really looking forward to these movies and seeing Kenichi Yoshida get to animate these characters again in full glory after all this time in full HD. The character (and mecha) designs and animation looked gorgeous and that brand new track fit in well with the scattered electronic music tracks of the original.
