Yes, after running for 24 years (making it the longest running American comic series in history), this week Sega and Archie officially announced that they have cancelled the Sonic the Hedgehog series as well as it's spin-off series Sonic Universe. If you were a fan of Sonic as a kid, there's a good chance you followed this series at some point in time. The Sonic series ran for 290 issues before it was unceremoniously cancelled (meaning it never got a final story arc) and if you include all the side series 32 issues of Knuckles the Echidna 94 issues of Sonic Universe 17 issues of various miniseries 13 issues of it's one-shot specials 15 issues of it's Super Special series 40 issues of Sonic X 11 issues of Sonic Boom make for a grand total of 512 comics. And that's not even counting the issues of the Mega Man series where Sonic and Mega Man did a whole crossover thing. So, in remembrance of a series that had dizzying heights of awesomeness (as well as terrible lows), feel free to post something you remember. A final note, a couple of days after announcing the cancellation of the Archie Series, Sega has announced that they have partnered with IDW to create a brand new Sonic series.

So now we'll finally get the truth. After the commericals though. -
That people were saying that the premise shouldn't have worked.

I love how Harrison Ford is on a mission to destroy his legacy

To be fair, he did regain a lot of it by reprising his role as Han Solo in Episode VII. Even if it was just to kill the character and collect a paycheck, it was nice to see Han Solo again on the big screen. -
Was released in America this past week. If anyone is familiar with the rest of the CGI Resident Evil films, this one takes place within the canonical video game series. This one takes place after RE6 but before RE7 and concerns the remnants of the Umbrella Corporation.. And features series staples Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and the return of Rebecca Chambers (we finally see what happened to her after the events of RE0 and REmake). I completely forgot it was releasing this month and only just ordered it on Amazon. I liked the first two films so I'm looking forward to this one.

I disagree with most of the posts. The premise for this new series should have always worked. It's basically a remake of Conquest for the Planet of the Apes (1972) and Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973). The real surprise was that 20th Century Fox, a studio renowned for releasing utter crap, actually had a trio of diamonds among the pile of coal they normally peddle. I went and saw the movie today. It was good. A fitting end to the trilogy (though there is a rumored fourth film since the series does make money) and has plenty of references to the first two films of the original series. Not really spoilers but...

I think the big thing was that it shows them at the ocean. Which means they go beyond the Walls far enough to reach it.
