to be fair Keith and Lance were never "officially" confirmed to be gay it was mostly just Naruto and Sasuke-esque uncomfortably romantic friendship scenes....then all of a sudden Keith turned into a vicious abusive piece of shit who wouldn't shut up about how much Lance sucked in season 7 for no explainable or justified reason kinda like how in Steven Universe Lapis went from this to this because her being an emo "heroic sociopath" was more comedically exploitable then her being a sad Disney princess

yep. everything they should not have done they chose to do dead gay character (3 if you count the fact that one of the voice actor confirmed two of the villians who got killed were Lesbians, and 4 if you consider that Shiro was dead from season 2 onwards until getting revived in season 6) gave Shiro an AIDS like disease for the sake of Drama that the show never said he had before the gay confirmation, had the government Agency he worked for belittle him and oppress him for no reason (other than the obvious reason that he was a gay man), and suddenly shot down the gay fan-ship they'd been promoting since season 2 by suddenly having both characters basically reassert how much they love vag and hate eachother, and make out with the nearest available female-like alien they could find
