  1. Scavengers also got a promo! It looks really cool!
  2. Wouldn't it be funny if Justice League gets its show review while JLA is on Cartoon Network?
  3. 6 PM tonight (12/16/16)/5 PM central! Decent DC action animation finally returns to Cartoon Network!
  4. They should also acquire the internet rights again for 1.11 and 2.22, and play 1.11 on the Stream Monday-Wednesday, while 2.22 takes Wednesday-Friday, leading up to the Toonami premiere of 3.33!
  5. #88, the last episode of the marathon, on the stream right now! The meat of the Cell Games finally gets going, with Cell vs. Goku!
  6. #87 now streaming. Get ready for the beginning of the Cell Games! ...and of course, THIS handsome devil of a guy! Fun fact, at one point in this episode, the reporter says "that is good!". Thirty minutes later, Episode 10 of One-Punch Man featuring "That is good!" Melzagard premiered on Toonami! [that is good]
  7. #86: Dende offers to be the new guardian, and the Dragon Balls return!!
  8. #85 is on the stream right now, and in it we have Krillin's hilarious overestimation of Goku's reaction time: And the military might of the entire world is no match for Cell!
  9. It's your last chance for Episodes 84-88 right now on the stream, for perhaps the last time ever, to help you prepare for the New Year's Eve marathon!! #84 is on right now, and it may come back around before Pre-Flight, but the others probably won't!
  10. That is true, but it also won't be the first time. The "Scavengers" short leads off the block on Christmas Eve! With the exception of the first episode of Intruders 2 and 3, that is indeed a first!
  11. This is NOT new, though! I think the first major marathon that was lit up by a cool video was the Michiko & Hatchin marathon, which was accompanied by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd's "Rattle That Lock". From there, major artists' videos also premiered during a few other marathons, including Death Cab For Cutie during the Samurai Champloo marathon!
  12. Since both versions of InuYasha aired on Toonami, I thought it fitting that there be a thread in here for the discussion of the franchise. Anything InuYasha (manga, anime, video games, etc.) is on-topic in here! And to start it off, the Toonami Tumblr posted this little gem yesterday!
  13. In this thread, I'm posting the results of the 2015 TOMmys as I listen to the entire 4-hour show at some point over the next few days. Why am I doing this? I'm a glutton for punishment, I guess! And of course when the 2016 TOMmys are available, I'll do the same. Here's what I've listened to so far: Best Overall Dub: One Piece. Runner-Ups: DBZ Kai; KILL la KILL Worst Scene: "Sinon meets Mother and Kid She Saved" (SAO II). Runner-Ups: "Dumpster Dog" (Parasyte); "Super-Aids" (SAO II) What do y'all think?
  14. January 6th, huh? Gotta say I wasn't expecting that! Last year it was Christmas; this year it's "Old Christmas!" I'm sure we'll also get the show preview of DB Super on that day, right? Or maybe Super 12/30/16; Gundam Unicorn Re:0096 1/6/17?
  15. Did I mention that thanks to the 12/9/16 edition of Pre-Flight I'll probably be going around singing "Fuck Donald Trump" the rest of the week?? I thought I probably should...
  16. Finally for now, it's Episode 83, aired on Toonami on 8/23/16! This one recovered slightly in the ratings but in fact didn't really have very much action at all, as it was kind of a "Transitional" episode from Perfect Cell to The Cell Games. Dawww...16 might be a stone cold machine but he still loves animals! Of course, that means we begin the Cell Games on the Stream after the Pre-Flight replay at 6:30 PM tonight, so y'all come on back, y'hear?
  17. Episode 82 is streaming now, aired on Toonami 8/13/16. This one actually did the 2nd lowest in total viewers (1194K) of any episode of DBZ Kai so far in 2016 (with only one episode remaining). It's really quite weird that it did, with that epic insert music during part of the fight!
  18. Episode 81 is streaming now, aired on Toonami 8/6/16. Train hard! Vegeta's down for da count; now Trunks steps up to the plate!!
  19. Episode 80 on now, aired on Toonami on 7/30/16, and currently holds the record for highest total viewers rating for an 11:30 PM timeslot (1666K) as well as for DBZ Kai in 2016. Vegeta gets his wish to see Cell's perfect form, but has his mouth just written a check his butt can't cash??
  20. Oh, OK. I was wondering why I was stuck at 6...
  21. Last chance to see Episode 79 right now, aired on Toonami on 7/23/16! Goodbye for 14 episodes, 18! And HELLO PERFECT CELL!!
  22. I've been looking at the super-secret backdoor schedule, and I've noticed a few changes to the schedule for the marathons: Christmas Eve: The block will kick off with "Scavengers" at midnight, and it will run for about 15 minutes. As a result, the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure marathon will actually begin at 12:15 with Episode 5 "Dark Knights", and subsequent episodes will also begin at 45 minutes and 15 minutes past the hour. Finally, Episode 10 "New York's JoJo" will air at 2:45 AM, and will be followed by a replay of "Scavengers" at 3:15 to end the block. New Year's Eve: The block will kick off with "Shelter" at midnight to ring in 2017, and DBZ Kai Episode 92 "Tears For An Android: Goku's Rage Burns Forth" will play at 12:05. It is unknown at this time if "Shelter" will get an unscheduled replay later that night during another episode of DBZ Kai. I imagine these changes will be confirmed on Pre-Flight, but keep in mind this is all subject to change. For example, I wouldn't be surprised if Bob's Burgers actually gets replaced with more JoJo on Christmas Eve and expands that marathon to 4:30 with episodes 3-10. It is suspicious that we haven't had an expanded block yet in December, but maybe a doubly-expanded block in November makes up for that? Also, still no official word on the schedule for January 7th, but I suppose we might see a surprise? We do know DB Super at 11:30 and DBZ Kai at 12, as well as Gundam Unicorn Re:0096 at 1, but it seems everything else COULD be shuffled around.
  23. I sure hope so! I don't know that it needs them, but it's definitely in that echelon! I wonder if topicals/other promos will actually be aired during CN as well as [as]. Maybe CN's would advertise the 8 PM airing, while [as]/Toonami's advertise both the 8 PM and 11:30 PM airings? What do y'all think?
  24. But DBZ Kai does well even WITH old cels! I'm sure I should also bring up that American Dad beat OPM, but then Bob's Burgers and King of the Hill both soared from there! Both beat Naruto Shippuden!
  25. Let's wrap this week up, shall we? http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-army-navy-game-cbs-hits-24-year-high-viewership/ 12:00 AM Dragon Ball Z Kai - 782,000 (84.35%) 12:30 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 515,000 (65.86%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans - 494,000 (95.92%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter - 469,000 (94.94%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden - 405,000 (86.35%) 2:30 AM One Piece - 346,000 (85.43%) 3:00 AM One-Punch Man (rerun) - 330,000 (95.38%) ADULTS 18-49 AVERAGE - 477,286 Gundam IBO S1's final episode retained over 90% for the first time in the series, let alone 95%! Does that bode well for Unicorn? And Hunter x Hunter and One-Punch Man retained admirably as almost always! SHOW AVERAGES SO FAR Dragonball Z Kai - 1,375,227 (97 episodes) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 998,000 (8 episodes) Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 940,760 (25 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 904,387 (31 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 888,713 (139 episodes) One Piece - 802,666 (165 episodes) One Punch Man Rerun - 633,000 (7 episodes) ADULTS 18-49 Dragonball Z Kai - 792,155 (97 episodes) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 589,875 (8 episodes) Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 556,560 (25 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 531,226 (31 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 490,336 (139 episodes) One Piece - 435,322 (165 episodes) One Punch Man Rerun - 368,667 (7 episodes) ADULTS 18-34 (Estimated) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 379,750 (8 episodes) Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 367,040 (25 episodes) I guess that's a fair finish for IBO S1. Certainly not bad enough for Toonami to pass on IBO S2, though I would say it won't begin at 12 or 12:30. JoJo drops below 1 million total viewers and 600K adults 18-49 on average, so might need to move down, but let's see how the double-shot does next week!
