Great animated music videos that should be on Toonami!
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I've seen every episode of Pre-Flight; even if I somehow missed it during Shippuden, I'm sure I would have caught it. BTW, the October 17, 2015 edition of Toonami is the one that opened with a snippet that appears to be from "Rattle That Lock," according to Toonami Digital Arsenal. -

No, that wouldn't have been possible, since it came out in 2015, and the last movie month was December 2014. -
Toonami Pre-Flight Discussion Thread
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Two Pre-Flights have come and gone, and most recent is the one that mentions Super and Kai... It ALSO mentions that on 1/7/17 there will be more premieres on Toonami in history, and that is in fact NOT the case, not even on Adult Swim! 1/7/17: DB Super; DBZ KFC; JoJo's Bizarre Adventure; Gundam Unicorn Re:0096; Hunter x Hunter; Naruto Shippuden; and One Piece - 7 premieres. 9/13 & 9/20/14: Attack on Titan; Bleach; Space Dandy; Naruto Shippuden; One Piece; Gurren Lagann; Beware The Batman; and Hellsing Ultimate - 8 premieres! But 1/7/17 will probably be bigger than 9/13 & 9/20/14! -
In this thread, we share YouTube videos of great animated music videos that would be nice if featured on the late-night better cartoon show! You might remember the epic video for the song by David Gilmour, the legendary guitarist of Pink Floyd, the title track of 2015's "Rattle That Lock," which played during the 2nd episode of the Michiko & Hatchin marathon on September 5, 2015: There's actually another video from the same album which also captures the Toonami vibe, but it is quite a bit longer: But wait, there's even MORE!! Here is a THIRD animated video from the same album! What do y'all think?

You mean Dimension W, right? It was a special case since it was a broadcast dub. The contract was probably inked while the Yasogami arc was airing on Japanese TV, so all the staff had to go by for Akame ga KILL's replacement was like episodes 1-4 or 1-5, when it was still actually rather critically acclaimed. No matter how much of a confusing, disjointed, incoherent mess it was in its final 7 episodes, it actually did great in the ratings. Tenchi Muyo GXP, on the other hand, there's just no excuse for. The whole thing was available (hell, it was an older show and not even a dub premiere) and it was easy to see that it was just really, really bad. Believe it or not they started airing that shit in November 2012 at 12:30 PM. As bad as the November sweeps period was in 2014 and 2016, neither held a candle to the all-out Hell that was 2012's, thanks to this bumbling move. Of course Naruto would come in December and it would be bumped to 1 AM, then quickly to 3 AM where it would finish out its ill-fated run! Gundam IBO may have done lackluster in the ratings, but it was NOT a miss! And I'm sure we'll get Season 2 after Unicorn Re:0096!

Maybe also when King of the Hill is on?? I mean, you should probably never choose a cartoon character as a role model, but Hank does have many positive characteristics, including that he's honest, hardworking, and a man of integrity! [be like Hank]

Now that was a very interesting and well-done video! I do wish he would have mentioned Bleach's obvious and critical role in events coming up next year: If not for Bleach's popularity on Adult Swim, [as] ACTN never would have held on long enough for Toonami to take hold on [as], and in turn, Dragon Ball Super probably would be on a kids network instead of Adult Swim! At one time, Bleach was beating DBZ as the 3rd member of the Big 3, before the champ re-ascended the throne in 2nd half 2015! And of course, 2015 would also be the year DBZ Kai drew monumental ratings on Toonami, while Bleach aired for the last time on 1/31/15... ...but maybe not the last time ever. After all, Bleach's profile will someday decline to the point where its license might be cheap enough for Toonami to air the first 63 episodes remastered Kai-style in a late late night timeslot.

THANK YOU for getting back to the main topic, after nearly 2 whole pages of political chat-fail! I enjoyed Gundam IBO. I thought most episodes besides the slowest ones were decent, and in retrospect there weren't quite as many as I remembered. Well over half the episodes (I count 15) contained some great mecha - on - mecha action, while most of the others at least involved some sort of drama or suspense. I give the whole series a solid 8.5/10, but mark my words, Gundam Unicorn Re:0096 will be MUCH BETTER!!
