  1. No, we did get one, and I think it aired during Kai.
  2. Wow, 12 pages already?? Oh right. We made this thread a week ago when [as] catfished us!
  3. Bloody trail! Ashi's blood trail! Guess she's the new Roberta! And more talking animals!
  4. Well, it won't make it 12. Probably 4 at the most, since Episode 11 is the one that began the mainstay of the conflict. Next week is supposed to be the conclusion!
  5. "Huh!?" The expression on Beerus' face was PRICELESS!!
  6. Fortunately, it seems this one didn't last 12 episodes! What did Beerus do??
  7. I'm actually home and online for this one!! Let's see what wonders it holds...
  8. Amazingly, the stream of GITS actually looks decent this week! So no complaints from me!! (It's kinda middle-D like Shippuden) With that in mind, here's the Top 9: #9: Shippuden - Hard-to-follow filler #8: One Piece - Cute filler story, but still filler! #7: Dragon Ball Super - Goku "gets Beerus back..." #6: Dragon Ball Z Kai - And the winner is...not Mr. Hercule Satan! #5: GITS - Enjoyable in Almost-HD! #4: Hunter × Hunter - Melody's sad backstory #3: Gundam Unicorn - Great action in the beginning, but mostly exposition after that. #2: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - INTENSE!! RIP Caesar! #1: Samurai Jack - Awesome debut to the final season!
  9. It might be kinda hard for them to acquire something just to air at 2 AM unless it's bargain bin, so a hand-me-down from Cartoon Network might fit the bill. Of course, I'd slot it at 2:30/2:45 AM, moving Shippuden back to 2 AM, but that's just me. So what do y'all think? Would JLA work on Toonami after Unicorn ends just to keep some American action into the mix? It also doesn't rerun on CN so it would be relatively fresh! Also, Jason/Etrigan is totally this series' Bullhorn, and he's voiced by Patrick Seitz to boot! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice_League_Action Got quite a cast, even Gilbert Gottfried! Shame a series like this is languishing at 7:30 AM on Saturdays...
  10. It's the weekend of 4/7/17, and the first 9-epsiode Toonami has finally made it to the marathon stream! 1. Samurai Jack #53 - XCII - TV-14V 2. Dragonball Super #10 - Show Us, Goku! The Power of a Super Saiyan God! - TV-PGV 3. Dragonball Z Kai #108 - The Junior Champ is Finally Decided! Who Will Fight Against Mr. Satan? - TV-PGLV 4. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #20 - Young Caesar - TV-MAV 5. Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 #10 - From the Scorching Earth - TV-PGLV 6. Hunter x Hunter #42 - Defend and Attack - TV-14L 7. Naruto Shippuden #149 - Separation - TV-PGV 8. One Piece #383 - The Great Scramble for Treasure! Collapse! Spa Island! - TV-PGL 9. Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX #6 - MEME - TV-14LV Enjoy, and try not to complain too much about Ghost In The Shell's quality. At this point it's pretty much a BONUS show!
  11. The solution would appear to be the animators themselves learning how to handle the business side of the equation and running everything themselves. It's exactly the same paradox that happens with Wal-Mart in this country: record profits but crap wages because trickle-down economics is essentially a restriction owners of businesses place on their workers by having first dibs on profits and then paying them the least amount they can get away with. Worker-owned companies get around this restriction because THEY are the shareholders; there are no outside shareholders that demand the first cut of profits. They tend to operate democratically and not with a totalitarian "trickle down" scheme, and that might be the answer for the industry. For the animators to get together and form their own worker-owned companies on their terms might save the industry; the problem there is TV deals are less likely to go to the animation studios that don't play by the fat cats' rules. But I guess a strike, while a problem for us fans, might provide a glimmer of hope in the long run. Also, I see the potential for an interesting counter-culture to develop here that would circumvent the "trickle-down" economics: instead of supporting the official releases, activist-consumers decide to pirate the actual anime works using BitTorrent and other such methods, but then turn around and support the individual animators' GoFundMe accounts and other such ways to directly donate to them. That way, the animators would in effect be well-paid while the greedy companies who don't pay them a living wage take a pay cut. As folks like Thomas Romain become more and more popular, the potential for them to make their living by fan donations instead of corporate wages becomes more and more plausible. However, fans of Toonami and dubbed anime are less likely to do that because the dubbed adaptations require some sort of company involvement, and most of these companies have the traditional "totalitarian" trickle-down structure. Nonetheless, the best chance the individual animators have to make ends meet is probably to make themselves known, then rely on fan donations rather than corporate wages.
  12. EPISODE 14: Clash of the Two Unicorns OP: "Into The Sky" by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Tielle ED: "bL∞dy f8 -eUC-" by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer The white unicorn. The black unicorn. They're on a collision course! They collide tomorrow night (4/8/17) at 2 AM! ONLY TOONAMI!
  13. EPISODE 24: THE TIES THAT BIND JOJO OP: "Bloody Stream" by Coda ED: "Roundabout" by (NEWLY inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame) Yes Getting down to the wire! The final showdown with Kars begins this Saturday night (4/8/17) at 12:30! Only Toonami!
  14. True, but the Final Four is pretty damn big for a Saturday event. And since the Super Bowl is played on a Sunday, it often barely affects Toonami at all. The pre-game stuff that aired on Saturday nights before it barely even made a dent, but the Super Bowl itself DOES absolutely DESTROY Adult Swim's Sunday night ratings.
  15. I think it depends on what they try with Rick & Morty, and how well AOT S2 does at 12:30. If new R&M ends up at 11 PM on Saturday nights leading-in to Toonami beginning June 3rd, that of course means Toonami begins at 11:30 with Super. But if AOT S2 absolutely kills it and gains about 5% from Kai on average at 12:30, then maybe it will move to 11 PM after Memorial Day for the next 7 or 8 weeks, and something like Blue Exorcist S2 or Gundam IBO S2 will be slotted at 12:30 instead. But that may of course mean little more than a stay of execution for 11 PM, and with AOT S2 ending it could fade off into the sunset and give 11 PM back to [as] for the fall. But at any rate, 2017 looks to be the year of the S2's, as at the very least DB Super S2, AOT S2, and Tokyo Ghoul S2 will all be airing at the same time for a few weeks. Gundam IBO S2, Blue Exorcist S2, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure S2 are also possibilities, and guess which season Hunter x Hunter just happens to be on right now?
  16. Maybe, but every now and then they do something that makes a little bit of sense. Somehow I believe, for example, they'll pull out JoJo episodes 11-20 next week leading up to the series finale 2-fer next Saturday night! But for tonight and tomorrow we've still got Cowboy Bebop episodes 1-5, so enjoy!
  17. The Rick & Morty stunt may have been interesting, but might it also have been an experiment? Could Adult Swim do something similar but with a different show, even a Toonami show? Of course I'm talking about none other than Samurai Jack. It would be quite interesting if [as] played the first 9 episodes of the revival in a 24-hour period leading up to the series finale! It would go something like this: May 19: Midnight-2 AM Samurai Jack S2 episodes 1-4 (92-95) May 20: 8 PM Dragon Ball Super; 8:30-11 PM Samurai Jack S5 episodes 5-9 (96-100); 11 PM: Premiere of SJ Series Finale (101?) to kick off Toonami!
  18. Rick & Morty "Rickshank Redemption" weeknight ratings: http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/tuesday-final-nationals-prison-break-fox-returns-decent-performance-young-demos/ On Tuesday night, R&M's umpteenth overall airing of "Rickshank Redemption" at 10 PM dropped slightly from Bob's Burgers, and then American Dad gained on it slightly! http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/wednesday-final-nationals-full-frontal-rachel-maddow-show-top-oreilly-factor-key-demos/ Then on Wednesday night, it gained a 0.05 in 18-49 from its American Dad lead-in, something Samurai Jack has yet to do in that timeslot.
  19. It did have its high points though, such as the fact that Kevin Conroy voiced Batman, and the Ra's Al Ghul story in the middle was quite intriguing. However, it was a pretty bad Batman show, all in all. I don't get why DC Animation won't do something for CN/AS other than TTGo and Justice League Action. Perhaps the JLA series will eventually get a run on Toonami. I must admit I wouldn't mind seeing that, even if it's at 3 AM. I SUPPOSE it's also possible that the movies might eventually get "episoded" out on Toonami, once their exclusivity contracts with HBO run out?
  20. Case in point: the stream did not advance last night. Looks like we're stuck with Episodes 1-5, iconic though they are, all week.
  21. Oh yeah, I forgot about Venture!! Yeah, that's #4!
  22. Really? After just one season!? That really is a shame. I thought it would at least get a Season 2. Looks like [as] and Brad Neely may finally have parted ways. When it comes to longevity among Adult Swim originals, the list probably goes: 1. Aqua Teen Hunger Force -- THIRTEEN seasons! 2. Robot Chicken -- TWELVE seasons! 3. Squidbillies -- I think this would also be #12? And at a distant 4th, none other than Metalocalypse, with 5 seasons? Or was it just 4, which would tie with the Boondocks for #4? I guess it just barely beats Boondocks since it had the Doomstar Requiem Special.
  23. ...will it ever happen??? :420: ::spin:: :fap:
  24. I dig Mike Tyson Mysteries; glad it made it to Season 3! Really hoping it won't end up like Superjail! and China, IL and get cancelled after that! And of course I'm willing to bet we've got more Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio coming up this summer!
  25. You are correct! And more people need to understand that!
