matrixman124
https://reason.com/2024/10/31/a-week-of-failing-to-pay-with-bitcoin-in-el-salvador/ Despite how El Salvador has been presented as a country that only uses Bitcoin, 90% of the population don't even use it. Bitcoin is legally supposed to be a mandatory form of payment for businesses but many still do not accept it!
[classic swim]
Good on my people! Thought it was only a thing for the wealthy but still put off when I first heard that. In only these past couple years I’ve heard they’ve been trying to clean up their act a lot compared to when I was brought up in the states. Glad it’s at least safer than before. André Toulon
I'm gonna confess here. Bitcoin and NFTs are in the same bracket for me as things that just plain don't make sense. I've never had much of it, but I have not encountered a single situation where I could turn Bitcoin into actual money ...which I've been told isn't the goal, but the idea of turning my money into Bitcoin only to have to search for places that'll take Bitcoin seems completely out of pocket to me
