The video mentioned spiders.. Which normally don't keep me up at night, but what is...is all this MISCLASSIFICATION that I think is still going on just because people, even biologissts charged with studying them can't even progress in the work because they don't want to bother studying them with a closer eye. Be it the general "EWww spider" creepy feeling I think is inherant to all human psychology to one degree or the other, or just lazyness because biologists HAVE been reclassifying tarantuala species previously thought to be at least 2 or 3 diff species (such is the case with antilles pink toe, caribaena versicolor) that were really just the same species that dramatically changed color/markings over their molting life cycle.

I got into this line of thought after just now realizing that wolf spiders were somehow the.... "original tarantula" which is fucking BULLSHIT because until someone can show me A fucking 'wolf spider tarantula chimera' not photoshop bullshit of what you see when a fucking common wolf spider of the lycosodae family scrambles your brains when it runs over you.. I refuse to believe the common wolf spider I catch and release all the time has got a name TARANTUALA LYCOSA.

This shit really needs to fixed, and well most probably needs to be just scrubbed at this point just because old outdated shit still sticks when people fix it a lot... but fuck your damn Lycosa Tarantula it's a damn spider NOT A T. Should've made this in rants sorry I don't even know where to go with this anymore, it's like no one can organize their thoughts when a spiders in the room even scientists shit!

I got nothing to contribute as I have no interest in spiders... but your rant makes me think of dinosaur fans arguing about they should be depicted with feathers because that's how they know/think they look now, vs. depict them with that classic giant lizard look we all grew up with because they look badass like that and that's why we all loved dinos as kids in the first place.

This has nothing to do with how people think things are or hypothesize.. I'm talking about legitimate over/missclassification that happens in both fields because everytime a 'scientist' discovers one that looks a bit different they (just want to jump at the opportunity to name shit and discover their own new thing) and overlook life cycle stages, and the possibility that members of the same species can have a wide category of characteristics/markings etc. Same thing happened with the triceritops I believe. At first scientist had the young, adolescent. middle age, and even a late stage triceritops or whetever they stuck with for the name classified as like 4 or 5 diff species just because when they're born their shield plate isn't pronounced and it changes shape as it grows.
