Guest Zintar
This week is also "Record Store Day" and there are a shit-ton of ltd titles released that day. The one I am looking forward to is a 10inch clear vinyl Zappa release, The b-side is to feature an unreleased track recorded live in 1972. It is an improvisation recorded in Portland, OR during the Petit Wazoo Tour. I have already secured a couple of copies and will pick them up before Saturday. Yay. Unrelated . . . Great banner pic of Jello. Yesterday we watched a whole Dead Kennedys show from 1979. It was awesome. I still love that band.

Codename: Jackass
So this thread is not active and nobody's posted new music, but I'm gonna give a shoutout to Alice in Chains and their new album, Rainier Fog, which came out a couple weeks ago on August 24. I had a very lukewarm response from this album on my first listen, but I came back to it a couple weeks later and I can't stop listening to it. Now, don't expect them to recapture the glory and anthemic sound of the Layne Staley dayes, but I really feel like Rainier Fog is their best album in their current incarnation, and, at the very least, a huge step up over their last album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. The album's full of great cuts and, unlike some of their other material since reformation, it doesn't really drag, which makes for a very consistent listening experience. I don't think there's any one song that's going to make you forget about Layne Staley, but I'm really digging this album a lot more than I thought I would. My choice cuts are going to be The One You Know, Red Giant, Drone, Fly and So Far Under. I'm an unabashed AIC fan so that might color my critique a little bit, but I think this album really stands up with the rest of their work and shows that Jerry and the boys still have a little bit of gas left in the tank. Check this one out. Edited September 4, 2018 by empty
