Doom Metal Alchemist
There's some overt references like Rocky's Bisou and AB/CD shirts and that one part where he (incorrectly) distinguishes between various extreme metal vocal styles... But I think these ones are a little bit more subtle... The title of this collection, "The Small Hours".... The Small Hours is the title of a song by NWOBHM band Holocaust, which Metallica covered in the 80s. Rock and Roll Orthodontist.... There's no way in hell that's NOT a reference to Black Sabbath's Rock and Roll Doctor. EDIT: I mean the title and lyrics are referencing Sabbath... The music and vocals are obviously referencing Elvis. On a tangentially related note.... It drives me crazy how in that clip they said Mr. Small's This Boy is Not My Son song is a "haunting ballad." There is nothing ballad about this song. Not in the 80s power ballad sense, and not in the medieval troubadour (?) sense. Maybe new wave or synth pop or something.
