it's a return of an old beat em up series so it's not really everyone's cup of tea I'll admit

I just hope the new content lives up to the hype

I have doubts.

Same thing goes for Battletoads.

Still, they can't mess it up as bad as Konami did w/ Contra Rogue Corps or whatever that abomination was called.

To me a huge part of any SoR game is the strength of the soundtrack, hopefully SoR4's tracks pull out some bangers and we don't just wanna turn on the old stuff

The new gameplay looks like it has some nice added features

I love and still own the original Streets of Rage and I made my mom rent me 2 and 3 from Blockbuster when I was 7 and spent the entire weekend beating them, but I'll pass on this. Lukewarm reviews from Game Informer and IGN (7/10 by both).

The new sprites look really bad compared to the old ones. They need either to have some sort of dynamic shading or something added. Without shadows they just look like they're paper cutouts on a comic strip.  The pixel ones always had some dark shading so they didn't look out of place when the lighting changed.

IGN's main complaint was that it felt too much like classic SOR without much in the way of reinventing the series
