It seems I have been spending too much time away from classic rock radio

Recommended Posts

On my way to work last night the battery in my bluetooth speaker ran out, so I listened to the radio on the way home. All the stations I listen to are either classic rock or a mix of classic rock and modern rock. So at one point on my way home, a song comes on, starting with an instrumental section, and it's very familiar, but I can't place it. The guitar reminded me a lot of the Allman Brothers. "Is this The Allman Brothers?" Then the singing kicked in. "What the hell? The singer sounds like the guy from The Georgia Satellites. But they only play one Georgia Satellites song on the radio, and this definitely ain't it. What the hell is this that has the guitar of The Allman Bros. and the singing of the Georgia Satellites?" I wondered. Then the chorus kicked in. "OH DUH. It's Peter Frampton. What the fuck is wrong with me???"

This was the song, by the way.

To be fair, that song is easy to remember and even easier to forget the title/artist. I have done it.

About the song on the whole, I disagree whole-heartedly. Both the chorus and the talk-box ("talking guitar") are complete dead give-aways that it's Do You Feel Like We Do by Peter Frampton. Until the first chorus though, you might be right.ย xD
