Half of it is car talk combined with my very non-mechanically inclined gf being coached over the phone by me doing things to get her piece of shit Nissan able to get home (I am 7 hours away), and the other is extremely depressing about my grandmother. I'm drunk, I might vent.

I had her unhook the battery and reset the ECM. she borrowed her uncle's reader, it shows a bad ECM. I ht to coach her through removing the ECM to get the numbers off of it. I am not there to troubleshoot little issues. So it's a "throw simple parts at it" situation. Luckily the replacement used ECM was $45.

About 6x longer than it would have taken me, and i sent her a video. I already knew where the ECM was and have never even touched it. But she isn't mechanically inclined like I said, and I had all the patience for her. At least now it'll be quicker when she swaps it out. Β And she knows how to reset the ECM if it fucks up because I coached her through that along the highway 3 days ago Β It kills me I am not there.
