Funimation will end its partnership with Crunchyroll effective this month, and will also opt out of their VRV service, because SONY bought Funimation a year ago and didn't want to compete with telecommunications rival AT&T, which owns Crunchyroll.  A lot of Funimation subs and dubs will migrate over to FunimationNOW soon, while other shows, dubs and subs, will remain with Crunchyroll.

:o I hope this doesn't mean Funimation shows will be harder for Toonami to get from now on, given how AT&T is basically William Street's boss.

Well fuck.  The main reason I had VRV was because of the FUNi/Crunchyroll partnership.  I didn’t exactly need old Rocko episodes as fun as that was.

Unless they go and lower the price of VRV to the point that getting FUNiNow won’t be a damned headache, I’ll stick with the Crunchyroll/FUNi combo.

One thing that above link doesn't mention is that VRV will replace Funimation with HiDIVE, which isn't exactly boosting my confidence. I'd rather HIDIVE go on Roku.
