KimopoBotar Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 That's weird. I'm in socal, and encounter Spanish only speakers all the time. We work around it to communicate and it's all good. Usually a "lo siento, mi Espanol es malo" is enough. Florida be crazy.

I think I've mentioned this before on the ASMB - I was the Manager on Call one night & got called to the camera dept. The girl behind the counter said that the customer was visiting from Argentina, didn't speak English & her interpreter didn't understand what she wanted either. The customer wanted to buy a display camera (last one left) and kept saying "la Literatura?". I thought about it, summoned up 2 years of HS Spanish from 18 years prior and said, "Instrucciones?". The customer got really excited at first, nodding up and down repeatedly and yelling, "Si, Si!". Then she looked at (pale, white bread) me, then at her interpreter, then back at me and busted out laughing! I guess she couldn't get over the gringo understanding her before her interpreter. 1
