Zenigundam
I was at the end of Earthbound and Ness was level 99, and the other three characters were level 80+ and I found myself in a 30 minute battle with the final boss and, when I died, I was like, "Wtf is this?! I fought that battle perfectly and dealt him like 30,000 in damage. Is he some kind of super boss with 50k HP or some sh--?" So I googled "Giygas Earthbound Boss Battle Hard" and I unintentionally saw through the search results what needed to be done. I was just looking for affirmation that it's a hard was battle, not how to beat him. Wow, I would have never beaten him if I had played this game in my childhood, not even now, maybe by trial and error after spending a week getting all of my characters to level 99 and realizing something wasn't right. Smh, that was pretty stupid, and all you get is a cryptic hint during the battle. Edited August 18, 2018 by Zenigundam
Zenigundam
That was a really dumb way to try to make the final boss battle tricky.

Not a cheat code, just a very dumb final boss battle that made me feel like I wasted about 10 hours leveling up when I didn't need to.

The only way I would cheat is by some accident like this, even though I knew that this could happen.

I could have sworn she always had that. I think I'm playing too many RPGs simultaneously and getting confused.
RainyDayJizz#35
I think every character had the option to pray. It's been a long time since I played it. Giygas was raise a wall and heal while everyone else prays if I remember.

I prepped for it like I was playing a Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, or Dragon Warrior/Quest game and I was leveling up like crazy because I thought I was gonna have to really go crazy on the final boss. Oh well, it was still a fun game. If I had a Super Nintendo as a kid, I would have been a huge fan of it.

Just bringing it up makes me feel like I have to play it again soon.

Isn't that supposedly the best game in the series? Would be interesting to try to play it untranslated though

I don't know how good GBA emulators are for phones these days, if you think your phone is beefy enough to handle it go for it. If you can't run the translator program on a phone do it on a computer then email it. I actually somewhat recently played the first Mother. It was pretty good although slightly cryptic, but NES games are. Mother 3 Is really amazing though.
Zenigundam
Yeah I guess it would suck to play it untranslated since I'd have no clue how to solve things. That'd be impressive if a non-Japanese speaker could beat an untranslated RPG during his first time playing it just by looking around at everything and trying to get into the developers' heads. There were at least one or two text passwords you would never get from kanji unless you spent a long time, because it was a word if I remember right.
