Whenever I have crazy ridiculous dreams, I can never recall them once I start describing them

It's the ones that are just so weird and long and crazy, I feel compelled to share them, and then the minute I try to start explaining them, it all just ...fades away

 

The fucking boring ones are easy to describe.  The other day I dreamed that I made two sandwiches the night before work, so I wouldn't have to make them that morning and save myself a few minutes.  And then I woke up and was disappointed because I knew I hadn't actually made the sandwiches.

 

But the recurring ones with strange houses with lots of rooms full of random junk, the minute I try to describe the details beyond that, it disintegrates.  Bullshit and shenanigans, I say.

if it is a recurring dream, try to hold on to one detail at a time and maybe after 5 years you can paint us a full picture

the moment i wake up from a dream i want to remember, i explain it out loud to myself. it just sorta sticks with me after that. if i don't, when i do go to tell someone about it, the same happens to me. i'll start explaining it and then it just disappears from my memory.

i had a dream every single member of my family were moving underground to hide from ??? i was just packing all my shit and everything i could possibly need for awhile because i wasnt allowed above ground for months. 🤔

Even if i try to say it out loud, it fades, Im not sure if trying to convey it in text versus verbally is better or worse, but it seems like less and less frequently I have dreams I'm able to fully remember and explain.  When I was younger it seems like it was easier to hold onto them
