The fermi paradox

There are so many tier 2 and 3 civilization projects we could do in the next handful of centuries that would leave a

measurable impact in interstellar space, and we just don't see any of it. (with a few potential exceptions, but there are other possible explanations for the WOW signal and KIC 8462852)

The conditions that give rise to intelligent life must be so inordinately rare...

How precious and fragile and amazing our lives actually are...

anyway; about a month or so ago a science channel I subscribed to on youtube did a video about it

now you have to realize 1. we are not even a tier 1 civilization so we wont be able to reach tier 2  projects and tier 3 is only theory

now another bigger answer to the fermi paradox could be answered using our own perspective

take the cold war for example if it went another way we couldve potentially cleared out earth now we can potentially say another advanced race couldve faced similar problems we did before reaching tier and was their own downfall

I must have missed this thread. I am subscribed to a channel that talked about this. Well, I'm subscribed to a few about the fermi paradox. But this one normally explains things quite simply for almost everyone.

Which ones are you subscribed to?

That's plausible and one of the more depressing explanations. I prefer the notion that they're out there, they know we're here and they have no interest in talking to us because we're still so self destructive and they don't to help that get out into the cosmos.

I've seen that one. I also like the ones from Sci show and PBS Space Time.
