fuggnificent Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 they are replacing it for free but want $200 for some kind of plumbing upgrade...? probably ripping us off.
Sieg67 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 First you have to figure out which kind it is. I'm not an expert but I believe newer ones are electric. You have something to worry about if it's gas but might just have to relight the pilot. In the mean time, you can heat water the old fashion way.
PhilosipherStoned Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 yes. the water heater in my house was manufactured in 2015 but it's definitely connected to gas lines so that bit about all newer ones being electirc might be a myth..
PhilosipherStoned Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Also did the pilot light just go out on the water heater.
fuggnificent Posted December 28, 2017 Author Posted December 28, 2017 yah im heating the water in pots for my daughter. went and showered at my uncles.
PhilosipherStoned Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 You can...umm relight the pilot light and it will probably work again if that is the issue.

That's interesting. My water heater is pretty new, and the gas valves and pilot starter are pretty easy to light so it might be worth the money. If you are renting I don't see how you'd have to pay for that though..

PhilosipherStoned Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) Oh right. It might be worth it then. The people that were renting this before I bought it said mine was put in a month prior or something so the plumbing upgrade might be neccessary for the newer set up.
