Swimmod_Luna Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 It goes to collections? Like they can't just send u a single bill one time and then if u don't pay it that's it, right? They'll send u the original bill and then one or more "past due" bills after that, right.
Cau Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 From my experience with things it's usually like 2-3 bills before that happens, but I've only had 1 medical bill that I paid on time so idk
nameraka Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 pretty sure the laws governing collection vary from state to state.

I called them to give them my insurance information which they didn't have on file so I've been expecting an updated bill or something.

All I know is in my state it stays on your credit for 7 years once it goes to collections. No idea what the rules are for it getting on your credit in the first place.

Even if insurance covered all of it they should have at least sent a bill with a zero balance I would think.

I logged into their site to check it and it still shows the full amount but that may just be because the "statement number" I have for the bill would be different.

Yeah, that would probably just bring up that bill. I'd call and try to talk to someone in billing and find out?
