Recruiter for ESL position

Lol, got a call at around 9am from someone in Virginia asking if I would be interested in an ESL (English as a second language) position in China.

$3000 a month with a minimum contract of 12 months. Relocation assistance and weekly food stipends as well as days off and travel assistance.

Now, I'm not looking but I never even thought this was a thing, especially because my degree is no where close to English.

$3000 a month is garbage, and I'm too immature not to just teach them bad words the whole time. Also, id probably contract that black syphilis shit and my peepee would fall off.

It was intriguing tho, and for a second I thought, "that could be like a free 12 month vacation" but then I remembered it's fucking China.

i mean...where at in china?

$3k is change, but without knowing the exchange rate and location, i'd assume that same $3k would probably go a helluva lot farther over there than it would over here.

at any rate, i'm applying for a job out in california this week. don't really expect to get it, but i figured it might be worth a shot to see what kind of offer they'd make. time to start upping the value of my brand.

back on point, how does an ESL job placement group in virginia get your number anyways?

Shanghai, but could change they said.

Not entirely sure but my resume is active on a lot sites. I get weird job offers and I listen to them all just in case, you never know.

Didn't you just buy a house a year or so ago? Up the family and make a move?

the employer is in CA but if i got it, i'd work from home. tech / process support for a brewery equipment manufacturer.

cost of living in shanghai is about 43% lower than nyc. you'd easily be able to live off $3k/month out there, but you probably wouldn't be able to save back more than $500-1000 each month. meh.
