    SAO definitely got better after it basically turned into a battle shonen ever since that tower arc started heh. A simple, straightforward story. Fighting progressively stronger enemies as they ascend a tower a la Red Ribbon General White Saga and Tower of Death. Then allying with the former enemy to fight a greater and mutual threat. Kirito even got sick and unable to fight. I think that maybe Reki should have just been writing shonen this whole time instead lol.

    His name is Yami Sukihiro and he looks Japanese. So some sort of fictional fantastical version of Japan in this universe, yes. Now that I think about it, someone mentioned the water kingdom or whatever it was called from a while back. Kohono... her and the other water land characters had Japanese names and character designs. Maybe Yami is from THERE after all like that person suggested?

It comes off as the author is trying to impart an anti-racism, anti-xenophobic message to his readers by placing a Japanese guy in this position when this is a known issue for Japanese people to treat foreigners, immigrants, minorities and mixed race people this way.

    Memory wipe?! Are the you know who involved? By the way, the X-files episode on the Men in Black concept was awesome. Loved the sequence of them getting into their car and leaving in reverse. (Probably the effect was done by reversing the footage of them arriving.) And that is my next show to fully re-watch after I am done with Forensic Files and Seinfeld, heh. Too bad X-Files got so bad towards the end though. 😧
