  1. Hey, someone finally changed the thread title to reflect its current purpose. Nice! Still don't know why nobody made a rerun thread to begin with haha.
  2. As I told you in the other thread, Viz is dubbing a show in JoJo that is done in Japan and had a big head start, and may only be focusing on that show as far as we know. Funimation has a whole slew of shows they have to dub, and are right near the Japanese airing of them.
  3. At least the SpaceX rocket launched without a hitch today. First time Americans launching into space from an America in an American spacecraft since 2011, baby!
  4. It was sarcastic, since Earl Grey is an English thing. Funnily enough, Picard is French, though played by an Englishman and constantly drinks Earl Grey. Yeah, things are rough right now, in more ways than one.
  5. I just had a marathon of 114-118. A much needed re-watch for me and great episodes to watch again regardless of if you missed anything the first time. Pumped for tonight's. Black Clover has become one of my favorite series, and one of the shows I look forward to the most every week. And yup, Chad Asta now reigns supreme on Toonami! All that shit talk about this show, and now the chickens, ah, anti-birds have come home to roost. Haha, I just noticed how Nero is distinct from the others.
  6. I was right! The same band who did the EPIC AND AWESOME 3rd OP does this new 10th one! This song has a different feel, but still great. And I love how the animation is synced to the music. The bird flying with piano, Asta's devil flashing on screen etc. Here is the full version - And for good measure, here is a great English dub I found. And nice to know the lyrics, since wise guys just kept posting the song with Japanese lyrics!
  7. Hmm, I've got too many geeky hobbies and fandoms to name. Obviously, Star Wars had always been mainstream, but there were levels of geekery on it. I've been a fan all my life and saw the first three movies so many times from such a young age that I have no memory of seeing them for the first time and not knowing what would happen! It's like it's always been there! Like the Force inside Rey. I can't remember what I started liking first. Wrestling in 97 or so. My brother's hockey coach got me into it, when I fleetingly took interest in a sport, though probably played it badly. Thank an unusual Texas winter freeze and SEGA Genesis NHL games for that inexplicable interest in hockey, which lead to wrestling. I started with anime watching the Android Saga of DBZ, the first one I saw is when they arrived on the island and Yamcha gets attacked. I'm not sure if they were new or reruns then. But yeah, wrestling and wrestling fans are looked down upon with much disdain by the general populace, it's seen as lowbrow fare, the fans fools for watching a "fake sport." But all movies and TV shows are fake! It's its own genre - athletic theatre, damn it! Anime, do I have to explain? Though more mainstream and accepted now, it's still seen as nerdy, weird stuff. A lot of people would rather get caught watching porn than anime! So yeah, I figured I wasn't hated enough, so I decided to be a wrestling fan and an anime fan! Sorry, tired, and got on a tangent for some reason.
  8. I don't know what you're talking about. It was a big moment in the anime, and it was a big moment in the manga. Certainly not a "simple goodbye" like you are downplaying it. That arc really doesn't have much difference to it from the manga, either. And it wasn't just that page. Besides that, how much time passes in manga is up to interpretation and the speed the reader chooses or is able to read it, and their imagination. I will say that part is not much difference between the two. Obviously time is locked in anime and you can't watch it faster or slower, and expect time is passing 1:1, with exception to simultaneous events and time skips. Of course, "shonen time" is often at play. That arc isn't much different in the anime, either, aside from one questionable change and one understandable one. In the manga, Kubo keeps teasing the identity of the mystery Soul Reaper, even having them speak, though not showing who it is. Obviously, in an anime, hearing the person speak would immediately reveal who it is, so the anime just reveals it is Rukia as soon as she speaks. In the manga, Tsukishima only cuts Ginjo, because he was a bad actor and couldn't convincingly pretend to be Ichigo's friend. I believe the other Fullbringers are also cut in the anime, which doesn't make sense given Riruka's earlier interactions with characters. But, I proved you wrong, and now you're just moving the goal posts and twisting, if not outright lying about what happened in the manga, so I'm not sure it's even worth arguing with you. You are overblowing the amount of filler, as in, if you mean padding to the canon content, it's not that big a difference. And a lot of cases is an improvement, like showing how Aizen beat all the Soul Reapers, when in the manga it just cuts to the next panel and they're all falling after Aizen reveals he switched places with Momo. Well, we know Kubo makes all the characters, even the filler ones, so, we know those Zanpakuto spirits are canon, even if those events in the filler arc aren't. But at the same time, I really don't feel like it is necessary to see the Zanpakuto Arc to understand the Nanao twist. That isn't minor. Aizen was the main villain for the majority of the series and plotting behind the scenes for a good while before he revealed himself, and Unohana was the only one who had a clue. Did any MHA girl do anything remotely this relevant? I don't know which character you're referring to. But the point is, by the time the series ended, almost no character got left out. Everyone got their time in the limelight by the time the series ended. A lot of series can't even manage that. And we are nearing 100 episodes in MHA and I can't say any girl has had the signicance, fight time, plot relevance, to any of the Bleach girls in that same time. Ichigo and Rukia were partners in battle in the first arc, she gets her powers back and is full fledged member of the team after her rescue, and has multiple featured fights and important moments with various members of the cast. Yoruichi is an instrumental part of the team and helps train Ichigo, we see her fight and backstory with Soifon. Kukakku also trained Ichigo and his friends and helped them get into the Seireitei. In the manga, she actually does more, attacking Aizen with the giants, which is not shown in the anime. Momo is Momo, such as she is. But even in her manipulated victim role, she was prominent role. Rangiku is a major character with important relationships to Toshiro, Gin, and others, and has lots of screen time and several fights. Unohana I already mentioned. The MHA girls haven't gotten a pittance of what I just described.
  9. I think this lockdown has made me go cuckoo! Could I be a voice actor? (No, that's not how I normally talk.) But hey, this is accidentally on topic, thanks to Gentle Criminal and La Brava! And you know, when I think of AMERICA, I think of Earl Grey tea!
  10. Yeah that would help. I would think that dub was pretty far ahead by the time the lockdowns happened too. It is? I thought MHA was already over in Japan, and just had a few more episodes left in the season to dub.
  11. You're seriously going to talk shit like that? Be grateful you got anything dubbed by Funimation under the current circumstances. The logistics could totally different between the two companies. For one, I'm pretty sure Viz doesn't have nearly as many shows under their belt as Funimation. Hell, are they even focused on dubbing anything besides JoJo right now?
  12. You want the director to to go against the MANGA ORIGINAL INTENT?!
  13. Can any mothers, or women in general, be powerful while they are still alive in this show?
  14. What? Don't forgive that bastard!
  15. So, the automatic sand defense isn't because of the tailed beast or how the sand jutsu works? It was the love of his mother waaaahaaahaaaa.
  16. So Gaara believed what Yashamaru said this whole time? Such brilliant plans you had dad lmao.
  17. What are the chances we go from one metal power to the other? Risotto's Metallica and now this Gold Dust.
  18. We'll even tell you all our powers and weaknesses lmao.
  19. Have you not been paying attention the progress being made on the vaccines and drugs? Maybe watch this later if you get the chance - https://www.pbs.org/video/decoding-covid-19-hrfhb2
  20. Whoa, had no idea! It was great and I couldn't tell the difference!
  21. So this tailed beast causes rage? I thought he was supposed to provoke Gaara emotionally, not try to attack him. That was dumb. Is he lying or telling the truth here?
  22. The assholes in the Leaf Village are lucky Naruto didn't end up like Gaara.
  23. No eyebrows but has charisma lmao. And sorry excuse for a mustache. Premature birth, and mother died in child birth.
