    I thought so as well. But apparently Ichigo is an exception because Ichigo and you can also imprint on a sword you just find laying around like Kenpachi did hahaha. Not sure what happened with Tosen's zanpakuto though. He got it from his dead friend but I'm pretty sure the abilities it has are definitely Tosen's. Maybe a sword goes "blank" after its owner dies?

    This was one if the most surprising revelations for me. I always assumed a zanpakuto was naturally born as part of becoming a Soul Reaper. But I've heard it explained that being a Soul Reaper is more of a job or vocation, than a race like Arrancars and Quincies. Still the idea that this guy INVENTED zanpakutos is wild.

    People kept complaining that nobody ever dies in Bleach, and I kept warning that one day Kubo is going to pull a Transformers: The Movie (1986) and just clean house. Fans gotta be careful what they wish for haha. Though I suppose it makes sense since this is a BLOOD WAR with a thousand year grudge. Still funny to think Aizen and his forces never killed anyone haha. Also some people theorized that as the last of the original 13 Captains, Yamamoto and Unohana were punished for their sins in their earlier days. D:

    Maybe it wasn't mentioned since the Soul Society Arc? Zaraki is the 11th Kenpachi and killed the last one to become Captain (he was briefly shown tonight.) That's why he didn't have to have Bankai or pass the test to become a Captain haha.

    The real reason Unohana learned healing was so she could keep fighting. Damn! In the manga, with the way the battle was depicted, we had NO IDEA what Unohana's Bankai actually did. Some people thought it was melting them to their bones and Unohana was healing them. But myself and others were pretty sure the skeleton sequence was metaphorical. This is the double edged sword (heh) of characters not explaining their abilities haha. But it seems like Unohana is able to manipulate that blood for offense as well as instant self healing.

    Not just the eye patch, Kenpachi was weakening himself even subconsciously. Unohana using the Saiysn hack on Kenpachi. 😄 BANKAI! Nice surprise to see Unohana's of all people's for sure. HOLY MUSIC!

    I do wish we could've gotten Kenpachi's original voice back though. I'm still not sure what happened with that situation. Though I suppose it would be less consistent to go back to the original voice after the second VA bad been playing him for so long.
