You're over-simplifying things and not giving the show enough credit. Think about this. Charmy fell in love with Yuno because he saved her food from falling. Does this really seem like a show that should be taken 100% seriously? Even then, at the times it does get serious, it can be pretty good. Lots of touching and powerful moments. You complain about over the top character gimmicks being spammed, but you love One Piece? Sanji could have had character development, but it was decided his character gimmick that has been run into the ground for 100s of episodes was more important, so he gets his ass kicked because he wouldn't fight a woman. It was stupid.

From watching the videos by that YouTuber, apparently the reason the game dub ended up like this was because Yu Suzuki INSISTED on the dub be done in Japan, and picked the voice actors himself, but based more on how much they looked like the characters. Talk about a madman creator! I can see why SEGA wanted nothing to do with Shenmue III! Oh, that sounds cool. I really need to play the Yakuza games.

Man, you just don't get it. It's unfortunate you are unable to see and appreciate that Black Clover is a brilliant parody of the shonen genre! Well, I didn't care that Hunter x Hunter was a "brilliant subversion of the shonen genre," because it was a boring, directionless show where nothing happened, with unlikable characters! =3

Most of the characters themselves are parodies. The clip I just posted of Noelle should prove that. She takes the cake for tsunderes. I've never seen one so over the top. She has arguments with herself in her own head. Yami takes it even further and will make fun of other characters and just about everything in the whole show. I'll repost that here too. The way Yami is at times almost takes it to a whole other, almost fourth wall level. How often do characters that are supposed to be "cool" get made fun of? Sometimes they would be the "straight man," but usually the humor comes at the expense of others and not themselves, or their interactions with others. Yami made fun of Nozel's hair. I can't think of a case where anybody made fun of Byakuya's hair. Then there was the episode where he straight up asked William Vangeance if he uses Light Magic. This guy was suspected of being Licht, the main villain, in disguise. I can't think of another case of this happening in any show. And this was all in the midst of Yami making fun of the other captains, made fun of Nozel's hair that time too, and made fun of the Orca guy's laugh. The whole scene was hilarious!

Dork-sta in the dub. It's probably Baka-sta in the sub. Haha, I was right! If you listen to her she actually says "Baka-sta" in Japanese! I don't like using "stupid-sta" for the subtitles though. I much prefer Funimation's "Dork-sta!" as an approximation!
