  1. WHAT THE?! WHAT THE?! WHAT THE?! WHAT THE?! WHAT THE?! WHAT THE?! WHAT THE?!
  2. Re-watched the last episode free of distraction. It was intense! All ready for this one.
  3. One good thing about this shown is I love that they acknowledged the jokes about Yamcha.
  4. So they changed the schedule yet again? Yes it makes a lot more sense this way. Use the opportunity to give Funi more time to dub Black Clover. Still won't be watching that Run the Jewels garbage though.
  5. Despite not really being explained in Dragon Ball Z, doesn't it not make sense for Gohan to power up from Super Saiyan 1, 2, to Mystic form? I thought Mystic form was like some sort of Zen-like state. Super Saiyan transformations are based on emotion. It also doesn't make sense for Gohan to lose access to his Mystic form.
  6. Why would you want Bleach characters to show up? If anything, this series shouldn't be connected to Bleach. It can stand on its own just fine, and it doesn't even make sense that they're in the same universe. I mentioned before how some stuff like Dragon Clads haven't been fully explained. But I like how explanations so far have been done organically. No conversations of characters talking about things they would already know, exposition dumps, narrator just telling us, etc. Since Ninny and Noel are already established witches, it doesn't make sense for them to tell each other (for the audience's benefit,) what things are and how they work. But with adding Macy to the group, we will probably learn things through her since she has been a Top/Front Londoner all this time. So I am sure more things will be explained in time. I agree with you about it still feeling too Japanese despite the setting. For one thing, characters would not be bowing to each other. Not sure what you mean about the architecture, though. There have been some ugly skyscrapers added to the skyline of London that don't at all mesh well with the other decades' and centuries' old buildings. I can attest that the look of London in the show is unfortunately very accurate. Why a fucking walky-talky and an egg?! And as it is, I can't think of how interiors of buildings in Japan might differ greatly from those in London, or the U.S., for that matter. I do hope the perverted-ness surrounding Noel does stop as well, especially with Balgo. It's not needed, and I'm concerned that the series and Kubo will catch flak for it in this day and age. But yeah this isn't a really self-contained adventure, even though we got introduced to the world and its character, and had a big battle. It was more like a pilot mini-series.
  7. Where did you see this? When I looked it up I could not find anything about future releases.
  8. I thought Android 17 looking girl was a guy at first haha. Yeah the uniforms. Were the Nazi uniforms really designed by Hugo Boss? No wonder they look so cool! Yep lot's of companies are still around that were previously doing stuff for the Nazis. Good... lord. I thought American youths came off dumb in those "man on street interviews," not knowing basic geography or history. These Japanese are even worse! Yes, we definitely learned a lot more about history in school. Only thing is, Columbus was completely white-washed, at least when I learned about him. I even saw a documentary about this, lamenting how Columbus was considered a failure and ended up in a pauper's grave, despite his contributions. Only thing is, neither that documentary, nor history class, talked about all the fucked up shit he did. Forcing natives into slavery, making them carry his men on their backs or he'd have their hands chopped off, etc. He was removed as governor of his colony by Spain for tyranny. Even Spain thought he was too tyrannical! Besides, if it wasn't Columbus, some other explorer surely would have discovered the New World eventually. And the Vikings got there first anyway (they just didn't stay.) Ah, got on a tangent there. But American millennials (and presumably zoomers as well,) have less of an excuse for being ignorant of history than the Japanese do. We learned all about this in school, and it is covered in tons of documentaries on TV as well, and books, online, etc. It sounds like history education is pretty lacking in Japan. And doesn't seem like it is something people talk about a lot, either. But I can see why the Japanese government would want to glance over World War II in the education haha.
  9. Ep 2 - Ok, so maybe what we saw last episode with all three of them together was more of a flash forward. At the very least, it looks like it might take us a while to get to that point in time in the story. Here, Towa is living in the present, and Setsuna and Moroha live in the feudal era. I don't like that Towa and Setsuna are just living by themselves in the forest. That means they got separated from Sesshomaru somehow. Towa's eye started to glow, and she got sucked through a portal? In present day. Of course you were not going to find Setsuna there. Ok, not only is Buyo the cat still alive (how old must he be at this point?!,) but so is Grandpa Higurashi and Kaede?! And they look exactly the same?! Some nostalgia from getting into fights with other students. Not from InuYasha of course. Reminds me of Ichigo. And did Yusuke get into fights like this too? But why are these bullies dressed like a whole bunch of retro wanna be Yakuza thugs? No one probably saw you, Towa, but a security camera surely did! Lul, that teacher. By the way, what was the mother's name on the sign? Is it that girl Sota went on a "date" with in that one episode? That isn't the same Mistress Centipede, is it? Isn't she supposed to be dead? Demon Slayers after the wrong target lol. But surely Sota should recognize something about Moroha here? Not sure what Moroha was planning there. Maybe put on that rouge make-up like war paint and then she becomes Beniyasha, haha. No idea what a rainbow pearl is. Maybe it is similar to the one Inuyasha had. These can open portals too, but also looks like they can give power ups. This has gone from bullying to straight up serious criminal behavior. Taking family members hostage. Uhhh did Towa take that sword from a museum or what?! And it broke! So it was just an ordinary katana after all! So much for that being Towa's signature weapon!
  10. So is that it for anime of this for now? I thought the movie was supposed to be split into 4 episodes, not 3. But no more episodes have been released this week.
  11. GT had better pacing. Like I said, while it didn't have some of the highs of Super, it certainly didn't have its lows. Like, the inferior redoing of the Beerus and Frieza movies just was not necessary, for one. Yeah I wanted an actual evil Goku. Goku from an alternate dimension, presumably. Not what he ended up being, which was lame. And yeah, then we just have Zeno erase him. Anticlimactic! So that is why things switched from Gohan taking over, eh? Yes a show on the next generation should happen. Spin-off or sequel or whatever you want to call it. Z didn't commit to that, and neither did GT, or Super. GT still did better with that than Super did, though. Haha, have they? That's funny. Yeah I've seen ton of that stuff around. I remember it from years ago in old magazines and fan sites. Dragon Ball After Future and Super Saiyan 5 lol.
  12. But that can't be! There is a often a method to the madness. A lot of things done in the show are tongue in cheek. I personally thought the scene of Asta and Leopold childishly arguing was funny, for the reasons I stated before. ~ See, look, here is someone backing me up on the quality of Black Clover, and how great Noelle is, and the women in Black Clover in general. In my view Noelle has one of the best and most satisfying arcs I've seen for a shonen character, period. https://toonamifaithful.com/noelle-silva-gold-star-female-character/ And yup, Black Clover sure is doing some things better than fanboy darling My Hero Academia. I was disappointed with how the women and side characters were utilized in My Hero Academia. And yup, Black Clover is one of the only series to actually use teamwork. Most other shows just have everyone split up to have one on one fights.
  13. I'm late on that discussion but I think I agree that GT is better than Super. GT may not have some of the highs of Super, but it certainly doesn't have its lows. It is a pretty solid what-if sequel to DB/Z and did some creative things like using the idea of the Tuffles for a villain, and how Super Saiyan 4 comes about. Yes most of the characters are more in character, except for Trunks, who acts like a total goof and his hair isn't even the right color. Which is why I always liked to joke that he is an android doppelganger. It was a good combination of classic Dragon Ball comedy and adventure and Dragon Ball Z's seriousness, higher stakes, and sci-fi elements. I do agree and wish that Pan got to go Super Saiyan. But both shows make the mistake of not making the story more about the next generation. Super has some epic fights and good concepts. I liked the idea of all these other universes but they are glazed over and just throwing them all into this battle royale with little build up is lazy. Finally having female Super Saiyans was great but I wish they were built up more beforehand. The art and animation finally gets decent later on. Trunks and Mai are a horrible pairing and the ending to that saga was horribly done. The concept of Destroyers makes no sense, especially after Old Kai said whatzisface had no reason or logic to his actions. It made it seem as if he wasn't a legitimate God of any kind. Then Grand Zeno is a psychopath which makes even less sense when Kami, King Kai, Supreme Kai etc were all benevolent guardians. Though again there are some characters, moments, and fights that I like. The episodes like Goku going shopping or Piccolo baby-sitting are hilarious. Seeing these super powered people doing every day things is priceless. But there is a lot of bad art and animation, too much fluff and padding (and no excuse for it since it's not adapting from manga,) Goku out of character, etc. I might even say there is more bad and meh than good. Super is not canon. I don't care what Toei or Toriyama say. The original series was a manga as written and drawn from start to finish by Toriyama himself and adapted into an anime. Super is an anime first with nebulous involvement by Toriyama. And Toriyama himself, does not understand the characterization of his own characters anymore, or is retconning them for no good reason. Goku was never basically a sociopath like Toriyama claims. That is going against stuff he himself originally wrote.
  14. I saw that part and disagreed with it. They were horrendous, yes, back then. Sure the okamas could have been worse by making them villains or something but that isn't saying much. It feels like people grade it on a curve because it's manga/anime or because it's One Piece and they like the series. Or because it's Japanese? But we shouldn't go easy for any of those reasons. Japanese creators, such as Reki, have had interactions with American fans and learned how they can do better with how they write their characters. Well yes that evolution is definitely a good thing, even without Oda making some kind of statement. I never saw Tiger and Bunny and didn't know about that character. I remember back in the day people wanted ASA or Toonami to air it. That will be an awkward watch if I decide to watch it now. And how were they allowed to call him Fire Emblem? Several of us had a big debate about Charlotte back then when he was first introduced. It is never outright stated that Charlotte is gay. If you watched that fight, a somewhat on the nose message was being put across - Charlotte may be ugly by most people's standards, but he is beautiful on the inside. Likewise, Yumichika may be beautiful on the outside, but he is ugly on the inside. Yumichika's character has consistently been an asshole the whole series. So really, even though Yumichika is technically on the side of the good guys, he was not put over as a good person there. Charlotte ends up coming off better despite being a part of Aizen's forces and losing the fight. Yes ideally things would continue to improve.
  15. Oh yeah. Hmm, but that is redone art from Shippuden, heh.
  16. Inside that tweet there is an article and inside that article is another tweet and inside that tweet is a trailer! https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2020/10/03-1/my-hero-academia-season-5-tv-anime-goes-plus-ultra-in-spring-2021
  17. Oh. Haha, her forhead is no bigger than Ino's in that shot!
  18. Meant to post this sooner but forgot. This explains more about what Progressive is. https://www.dualshockers.com/sword-art-online-progressive-anime/ Also apparently the writing is supposed to be a lot better in Progressive.
