I never saw the first Suicide Squad movie because I was generally disinterested in it, and the reviews didn't help. I usually don't care about reviews or fan reception, but if I'm already not interested in seeing something, negative reception is not going to encourage me to see a movie. I then remembered hearing the director's cut was supposed to be better, but I never looked into seeing it. Not sure if the director's cut is on HBO Max or not. So does this new movie anything to do with the old one? Though I gotta say, that new Dune movie looks a lot more interesting than The Suicide Squad or Black Widow.

So, this is not your typical DC show. This is more like a "wacky" wannabe Venture Bros. except using actual comic characters and not parody characters. And I gotta say I didn't find it funny at all. Pretty tryhard and failing at imitating the Venture Bros. formula. Harley Quinn's voice doesn't sound fitting to me and is quite annoying. Harley's voice should be higher pitched and more playful. So the Toonami promo on this was kind of deceptive. I guess I should have researched the show on my own.

I didn't realize the marathon started at 9:30 Central. I was watching the Olympics when I checked the channel guide on my DVR and saw that. So I missed the first episode and about three minutes of the second episode.

Ah that's cool. It is odd that VAs still don't make much voicing characters for anime with what big business localized anime is these days? I would've thought their pay would increase by now. So yeah the rest of the money they gotta get from conventions.

That is true as well. But ever since I read a blog about the horror stories at conventions on the old That Guy With The Glasses website years ago, I had no interest in going to anime conventions, and never went to one. Back then, things that were listed included B.O. of attendees, girls brandishing yaoi paddles, and "con flu." I imagine it would be worse to have covid running around as the "con flu" as opposed to a cold going around or something. I remember a friend and I were going to go to a convention a couple years ago, but the cost of admission was ridiculous, and for z-level guests! We wouldn't have had any money left to buy anything! So yeah I've never been to an anime convention and sure as hell wouldn't go to one now.

I think we're beyond babysitting people at this point. People are going to have to take personal responsibility for themselves.
