That is ice cold, if true. The idea that Toonami not only doesn't even add a little bit of extra awareness of shows, but actively stops them from becoming more popular than they could! Is your sister younger than you? I know a lot of younger anime fans don't even know Toonami is a thing, sadly. When Toonami was a major factor of helping anime get as popular as it has gotten in the United States.

This sounds a lot more concerning than not being able to get Funimation shows, although that is a serious blow as well. Toonami having to be "different/more experimental" translates to their budget likely having been slashed in general and they are really going to have pull some things out of their asses to be able to even fill the block. They're going to have to air some older shows (although Demarco once claimed older shows are no cheaper than newer ones, which seems odd to me,) and some stuff they might not normally air. Toonami is going to be on a decline, or at least "downsizing," not necessarily in the amount of time it occupies, but the type of shows they air in the future probably won't be as recent or as popular as in the past. Do you have the tweets where Demarco said this stuff?

Wait, so are you telling me that the only reason Demarco didn't air the next Food Wars season was because it wasn't dubbed, and not lack of funds or incompetence preventing acquiring it? AND NOW IT'S BEING DUBBED?!

Also One Piece isn't "new" but a "return." Demarco was full of it once again!

Lots of other areas as well. In general that fan art (and most fan art) "normalizes" the look of most One Piece characters so they don't look so impossible in their anatomy. How does buying Crunchyroll effect things? So Sony just doesn't feel the extra buzz and word of mouth, viewers, etc is worth the effort to license the shows to Toonami? If that is the case, that is a real shame, and Toonami is definitely going to have to do scramble if they can't get many, or at least not the new popular, Funimation shows, going forward.
