All that recap... like 6 or 8 minutes in and we finally get to "Gohan is a high school student." Videl! <3 Anybody know if her voice changed? Been a while but it sounds similar. Oh hey, it's these student friends of Gohan and Videl... I'm sure they'll go on to be very important! "Transfer students"... always such a tradition in anime. "What kind of name is Gohan?" ROFL Seriously, though, it means cooked rice or something. Almost all the Dragonball characters are named after food, random objects, and/or jokes. Of course many of the original characters were based on the original Journey to the West characters, but after that... we've got the underwear family, vegetable aliens, etc...

Yeah. I have no idea. It's like something out of a bad kids show. x_x Yeah GT wasn't all bad. A nice what-if story, and I liked how it was more like the original Dragonball, though I still think it should've focused more on the next generation and not Goku again. I think Pan is still going to be conceived. Wasn't she inside Videl in the Battle of Gods movie or whatever?

I thought the classic cel animation of Dragonball/Z looked better. Super is so overly bright and vivid, and lacking in detail and contrast. The art and character designs seem a bit different in Super as well. I suppose I'll get used to it eventually. But, to me, the old stuff looks better.

The New Year's Banner is from Bleach. Nice. Rebels mid-season premiere was great tonight. I also caught up on past weeks of JoJo and some other stuff, plus other things on my DVR, so I'd have space to record tonight's Toonami. Anybody new to Dragonball Z, or at least those who first started watching since Toonami's airing of Kai, however few they may be, are going to be very confused. Thankfully, I think most of us have seen Dragonball/Z countless times and should be fine? Hell, we were okay when Dragonball Z was played before Dragonball, and then both concurrently. This show isn't like X-files or anything. You can miss stuff and watch things out of order and follow along just fine I think. And I see we've got all the ASMB emoticons back, plus a redeco of the background and forum in general! Nice!

Yeah, no more Faulconer score. But at least we don't have to suffer through Justin Cook's, Sean Schemmel's, and Sonny Strait's "singing" during that ensemble version of Dragonsoul in the official score!

Eh, I like Goten. I wouldn't say that's true at all. The whole thing with him is he's more like Goku, but not as tactless. Gohan was more gentle and not really like Goku. Goten's new voice is horrible, though.

People remember alien invaders (the Saiyans), but completely forgot about Goku saving the world from King Piccolo, and the World Martial Arts Tournaments where people used special powers, including flying. It wasn't that long ago, and anyone who wasn't alive back then should have, well... records they can read/watch/whatever. Never heard of a scent like that. Must have been made up for this joke.
