  1. We don't exactly know how well Ninja Kamui would do on Netflix. Despite it's reputation for shitting the bed after episode 5 it did pretty well for itself on Max and theoretically would have done very well on Netflix and maybe still would if it was thrown on there now.
  2. Kamui has a 7/10 on iMDB and RoR has a 6.6/10. RoR does have a better MAL ranking but both are sub 7/10 there. RoR might be more popular but to say it dwarf's Kamui popularity seems inaccurate. There's certainly Netflix anime that do dwarf Kamui's popularity though but also many that are much less known or even more infamous than Kamui became by the end. Netflix is always throwing basically whatever they can onto their platform so I don't think they'd cancel Ninja Kamui's second or third season given it's cheap enough to produce.
  3. Probably a fair prediction. If it is made then it will air on Adult Swim per the contract but season 3 could easily be cancelled before season 2 even finishes production.
  4. Maybe Kamui season 2 will be ready by Fall of 2026 but it seems much more likely for 2027. MAWS should be sometime in the 2nd half of 2026 but I'm thinking Summer. And then who even knows about Get Jiro, the production seems troubled to say the least but considering how long ago it was announced it feels like late 2026 should be feasible.
  5. Seems like something they'd toss on as filler at some point but it's just as likely that they won't air it.
  6. Oh I messed up too. Forgot Dan Da Dan didn’t air on the first Saturday of November. So yeah 9-12 will air in January. Annoyingly off by one week for a clean swap from Mashle but they could double up OP that week or do some other one-off filler then have Mashle make way for new Dan Da Dan. Perhaps they throw on The Elephant at 2am on January 31st.
  7. Union rate is like 1,000 for an hour. So they probably have him record like once a month or less for 1 hour for around that much money. Definitely could have added up back in 2013 so it makes sense they cut way back on those recording sessions. Idea Box, Dan Da Dan season 1 should finish on Jan 17th though they might resume on a different episode after the marathon, that would be very unusual.
  8. A sneak peek of Dan Da Dan season 2 bookending a marathon was not on my 12/27 bingo card. A marathon of Dan Da Dan sure but not with anything new. And only one night off is a welcome surprise though I was looking forward to a podcast break. They finally remove Naruto and immediately replace it with ZOM, which I suppose they still have TV rights for so a rerun was long overdue but ugh… RAMTA is back. That did not have to be Toonami. I know they are desperate to fill post Toonami hours without Futurama and King of the Hill but come on guys. Maybe remind people that Ninja Kamui exists. As for where to fit Primal, I actually think the solution will simply be to move everything down so they have even less post Toonami space to deal with. Or they don’t bother with encores and they use it like Common Side Effects as glorified filler whenever they next have an opening.
  9. Yes I have heard the CNN angle and it makes sense given the political side of things. Absurd as it might seem, if Netflix walks away with WB, the studios, DC, HBO, the interactive games division, etc that leaves CNN and the rest of the cable networks to get snatched up by Ellison and that my friends is just as bad or worse than if Ellison bought all of WBD.
  10. Seems odd they're running this on a Friday rather than Sunday. Wouldn't be terribly surprised if it was used for some filler on Toonami within the next year.
  11. We need people to be allowed to make more shows like Common Side Effects. Good to see it's getting its flowers.
  12. Seems like Ellison just has a bug up his ass because he's not getting his way right now so he's doubling down but as for why he wanted WB in the first place... because Paramount wasn't a big enough deal I guess and the company wants even bigger IPs to exploit.
  13. From my current understanding though it’s not conclusive, Cartoon Network Studios under WB Animation owns all the shows made for CN and AS including the Williams Street shows but Cartoon Network Incorporated which will be part of the dumping ground owns the brands Adult Swim, Boomerang and Toonami and the channel can keep the name Cartoon Network despite losing the studio to WB. So if they can keep their heads above water and if Discovery Global sees fit to keep them funded, then Adult Swim and even Toonami can continue after this sale clears. So we’re basically back to the clock ticking down to the ultimate demise of cable but the deal itself won’t necessarily kill the network faster. However, they will have to pay to keep playing their current breadwinning original series. Whether or not they can do that largely depends on money and if Netflix will play ball in 2027 and onwards.
  14. Everything I’m hearing about Ellison now makes me glad Skydance didn’t get WB. They certainly would have a ton of redundancy so CN was doomed either way and now we avoid Rick & Morty simultaneously on Comedy Central and Adult Swim. But can Adult Swim even keep using that brand without licensing it? Is the Toonami brand going to be locked away now because Netflix owns it and doesn’t want to use it? Or are those particular brands owned by the Discovery half now?
  15. His resume looks considerably worse after the string of flops he co-produced so best of luck to him… Really wondering what this means for all of the WB owned CN and AS programming currently on the network. They always had to pay Warner for WBA productions, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, DC shows and the like but now will they have to license Smiling Friends, Rick & Morty and Primal? Even stuff like Aqua Teen, Squidbillies, Metalocalypse, Venture Bros, Samurai Jack, Billy and Mandy, Dexter, PPG, Courage, Adventure Time, Regular Show and Gumball? Or do those remain in the channel library at no additional cost? If they have to pay Netflix in order to air those shows then they’ll let most of them go. If you think the AS schedule lacks variety now, just you wait. What will the CN side even do if they have to pay to play Gumball reruns? That’s like half their hours.
  16. Oh man… Netflix is winning Cartoon Network (probably not AS) is so screwed
  17. Not for a second when I saw that after credits bit did I think "that's kinda transphobic" because of the cross-play. It's skewering inappropriate behavior at anime conventions which is all too common.
  18. I was also pondering the logistics of airing Call of the Night if this is a contractual mandate.
  19. There might be a contractual obligation for not editing Creepy Nuts songs.
  20. Well hot dang. They actually got three cours of Bleach right out of the gate and no break on 11/29. 12/20 is a bit early for Christmas so maybe they will run a normal lineup that night as well. 12/27 is definitely a break and probably 01/03. I’m gonna guess Primal starts the 2nd week of January.
  21. December 1st (a Monday) has Futurama at 5pm-6pm too followed by Bob's Burgers and Family Guy blocks. I"m all for seeing Futurama in the daylight again but have they really just been keeping it in reserves and intend to use it effectively now that King of the Hill is gone? I guess we'll see and perhaps they'll air American Dad before 1am again as well.
  22. They missed out on Solo Leveling and now they get what's left I guess. Gotta figure all of these will be animated outside of the US as the latest way to produce cheap programming for HBO Max. Maybe some will show up on Toonami eventually depending on who owns the network by then.
  23. With the amount of Family Guy airing on Thanksgiving weekend, it's making some folks wonder if Family Guy is leaving before 2026 and Futurama probably would too. Can you imagine an AS with only Bob's Burgers and American Dad to rely on before 11pm? It really would be time to consider ending the network.
  24. I think whether or not they have more Bleach or another show or nothing they will take that weekend off so they can extent what they currently have 1 more week.
  25. Blank schedule after midnight on Thanksgiving day weekend. Probably a marathon.
