  1. Out of context, much? She's a talker.
  2. Two pensions. Fully vested in both. The amount grows each year. Been growing each year for nearly thirty years. Start early or be left out.
  3. Not with me, Mon Idiot. There are quite a number of other people at these gatherings. So let all the arm chair quarter backs talk sports, the political nuts talk about politicians, other people talk about their jobs, etc. Me? I can't find anybody who talks anime. So, I end up with my sister in law talking about her pastry recipes or whichever.
  4. It's not that simple. As long as the government doesn't pull some hair brained stunt like declare a jubilee, I'm currently worth more retired than working. So, yeah... owning a modest home in San Antonio at retirement is not outside of possibility for me.
  5. Yeah... he's the guy who steers everything to politics.
  6. The Hell I can't. What do you think the payments are on this place?
  7. Oh... yeah... being a supervisor here for seven months and getting fired looks just super on a resume. I've seen it happen.
  8. Mopping spunk is what the least in seniority does around here. I get to pick and choose the assignments. Supervisors here don't get pensions. AND...they have no job security.
  9. I'm not worried about a resume this close to retirement.
  10. In flat, monthly salary? About $150 to $200 per month more than what I take home. But, she gets that at the expense of working sixty hour weeks and paying more than half of her health insurance premiums.
  11. It's not like this is his very first time. He never cheated me in the last two. Besides, if he decides to pull a stunt like you describe , I'll just overtake the payments and move into the house. Of course, I'd have to change jobs too.
  12. My older brother spent six years living that way while he was studying for his doctoral degree. People moved out, people moved in. Sometimes, they got together and hosted rent parties.
  13. You act like this particular supervisor could have her nine bedroom house in Longport. Anyway, the upper management here doesn't need cause to fire a supervisor. It could be just a little slight, such as not coming in to work when the phone rings at four in the morning. You don't find other work at any casino after you've been fired. Care to work in Wilmington or Scranton?
  14. Equal sharing isn't dependency.
  15. What makes it stupid? When you compare the number of hours a supervisor has to put in here at a flat, monthly salary, to the number of hours I put in, the supervisor almost always earns less PER HOUR than I do.
  16. So sayeth you. When you're not dependent on the government, your parents or other enablers, you're on your own.
  17. Okay, so get five or six of your pals together and rent a four bedroom house. Even split on the rent and utilities. That's what plenty of low income workers are doing here.
  18. No, it happened, twice. I just simply don't want to take on all the additional hours and responsibilities without getting any extra pay for it. Also, supervisors where I work have no job security at all. Even department heads get hired... and fired at a much faster pace than any of us union workers. They can even be fired without cause. I'm not sticking my nose in that mouse trap.
  19. An LLC is usually more than one investor. When I had seven percent of an LLC a few years back, there were both male and female investors in the group. The more members, the more likely that a mix would form.
  20. Because it doesn't matter. It can still be done even today.
  21. Which is why I turned down a supervisory position twice when it was offered.
  22. She's one of my supervisors. Figure those odds. A worker and a boss residing in the same apartment complex.
  23. I'm not a squatter. I'm here on a yearly lease. As for gender, who is really running the show? There's the female property manager on site, along with her secretary and then the owners are an LLC based in New York. I suppose there's a healthy mix of gender in the LLC membership.
  24. Makes no difference. You can still do it today when you find the right landlady.
