imo, the only bad pacing is when a series rushes. slow burns and long calms serve to develop characters and relationships and worldbuilding, all of which make for a richer, more enjoyable story. actin beats, while important and fun, are overrated.

but it means, "how many demons have we killed who would have turned out to be decent people?"
