I'll stand by my statement on "V for Vendetta", which took an all-over-the-place story and made into something politically relevant across multiple generations.

The first Matrix film was good. The other two went off the rails incredibly quickly. And I can't call them hacks since they wrote the V for Vendetta film, which resonates now more than ever.

Since it's Japan, probably cow. Japan's food tastes are actually more similar to ours. They don't eat dog, cat, guinea pig, etc., or whatever pet we have here. Maybe because we introduced those species there as pets and people have a hard time learning to eat an animal they once had as a pet.

Pretty much all cultures, except the U.S., introduce the concept at a young age. We just ignore it until someone important dies and expect the kid to handle it simply because talking about the concept beforehand is "awkward". To be fair, I remember a bunch of 80's children's movies that dealt with death quite well.

We, as the audience, know that. But if you were in that show's universe at this point in time, you could not know that.

In all fairness, as much as I say I want a Tachikoma, this specific scenario: an Artificial Intelligence gaining sentience and escaping in the wide world is raising alarms across the board. And the fact that he just tossed that dog kind of verifies my point.

Survival Horror is back instead of the more action-oriented approach of RE's 4 thru 6. Tight corridors, tough enemies, scarce ammo, low health, and a constant fear of "Is this the spot I die in?".

That's why I tend to like works (anime, manga, books, TV show, movies, etc.) that have a beginning, middle, and end. Not ones that go on and on and on and on...

That's what I was saying! Is Mochi literally saying that in 40-50 years, YOI will still be the high water mark in Japan, and U.S. cartoons won't have advanced from present time? I have hope. More and more people are becoming sympathetic to the cause. Japan will be later than the West for sure, but much sooner than the Middle East and parts of Africa where gays are hunted and killed. I've been watching the new Prison Break, which takes place in Yemen, and there is a young gay man in the prison there who ISIS wants to kill. I hope he lives.
