I don't mind autos, but I have horrible luck with them (except my '98 Grand Cherokee... whose transmission was abused by racing, manually shifting, off-roading, and towing MUCH more weight than I should have) and I get bored. Plus, I like my fuel economy and to be able to not have to use the brake as much.

Haven't even bought the Jeep yet, don't know if I WILL buy it, but already looked into all of the things needed to ditch the auto and swap it over to a 5-speed. Mechanically, I know it's easy. ECU and speed sensor will be the bastard.

Time to find the radio and cut the speaker wires.
