Fuck it, I'll do it myself then. So for the newbies in the audience, let's recap the crazy series-shaking revelations that Oda crammed into this handful of chapters/episodes:

  • This one almost feels like an afterthought at this point, but oh yeah, Sanji is the son of a notorious crime family and has been forcibly engaged to the daughter of one of the Four Emperors.
  • Remember Raizo, the man that the Minks swore up and down wasn't on Zou to the point of being nearly slaughtered en masse? Turns out he was there the whole time and they risked everything to keep him safe.
  • Everyone's favorite little shit Momonosuke isn't Kin'emon's son at all, he's actually his lord, and the rightful heir to the shogunate of Wano. Still a little shit though.
  • We've been chasing Poneglyphs going all the way back to Alabasta, and now we learn that there are four special ones that give the final directions to reach Laugh Tale and see Luffy become the Pirate King. Phew.
  • Oh right, and two of those other special Road Poneglyphs are in the hands of...Big Mom and Kaido. Have fun with that guys.
  • So not only is Momonosuke the rightful shogun of Wano, but his direct ancestors are the ones who made the Poneglyphs in the first place, and his father Oden was the last in the long line who knew the secrets to deciphering them.
  • ...sadly, Momo didn't get that knowledge, because his father was brutally murdered by Kaido, who's still trying to hunt down Momo and his retainers to this day.
  • Oh right, there's the little fact that said father sailed with Gol D. Roger (and Whitebeard too!) and MADE IT TO LAUGH TALE WITH HIM. Dear lord.
  • And just as a topper, everyone's favorite Dog and Cat were part of Roger's crew as well, even though they didn't make it all the way to the end. Also Momo said something about having met Roger too, but he died over 20 years ago wait what the fuck?
  • Oh right, and the Log Poses that Nami's been using to navigate the Grand Line ever since they met Crocus at its very start don't point to Laugh Tale itself, but they do point to a place that's necessary to reach that final island beyond the path's end.

Did I miss something in there? Like fifty crazy things happen in this arc, so probably! Probably not hard to see why this is one of my favorite stretches in the entirety of the series.

I'm surprised Luffy knows the word figurehead. 😄

Before you were born?  How many years?  I really hope your lifespans aren't like animal lifespans!

Luffy - "Being allies means we're best friends."

"No we're not!"

This is your idea of fun, Luffy?!

Sanji?  Whodat?

Luffy is really going to go by himself?  Won't fight her?  Suuurre Luffy.

The elephants eyes are so creepy!

Jack knows how hard it is to kill someone in One Piece. 😄

Kill the elephant?  You're mad, Jack!

The cat and dog know Shanks.  Of course they do.  Everyone knows each other in this world. 😄

How old is Buggy?!

Instead of the Dutch, it was pirates who first contacted Japan lol.

And Franky is connected to them too LOL.

Oh yeah, the log pose.

Damn Nami is stacked from the rear too. 😄

They know Crocus too loooool.

Yeah WAY more than two years of shit has happened since then.

Start the adventure anew after Laugh Tale?!  Nooooo that means One Piece will be 50 years long!

Laugh Tale is even further than the end of the log pose route.  Great.

I knew Luffy wouldn't get away with that backslapping for long. 😄

Shanks and Buggy were both cabin boys on Roger's ship. We first found that out...I don't even remember when, but it was hekkin' ages ago. (Quick search suggests that it was when Shanks met with Whitebeard after Enies Lobby.) So naturally everyone else who was on Roger's crew would have known them. I think Rayleigh brought it up too when the crew first landed on Sabaody.

And according to wikis and such, Buggy and Shanks are both 39 years old. Roger was executed 24 years before the present time (so 22 years pre-timeskip), which would have made the two of them teenagers back then.

Ah OK.  Yeah I keep forgetting it wasn't THAT long ago that Gold Roger was executed.  The show makes it seem like some long ago legendary era sometimes heh.
