Saints Row II: 15th Anniversary

Easily my top favorite game, tied with San Andreas.

Not many shooters out there let you hit some bitch upside the head with a stop sign or a broken TV. Or let you smear the city in shit with a septic truck.

 

 

Most say Vice City had the best soundtrack, which I myself probably wouldn’t deny. But this game had “Land Down Under.” And “Final Countdown.” And “Take on Me.” And “Karma Chameleon.” And “Gangsta Bitch.” And “NY State of Mind.” And “Everybody Wants to Rule The World.” And all of Four-20 + Ezzzy FM.

 

Love the campaign, but even if you’re not fully in it you could still have a shitload of fun with basic co-op. 

 

Only thing I never liked was the Respect meter. The activities should be something you’re already compelled to play without being forced to in order to progress.

Shame Volition wound up remastering Saints Row The Third and not SR 1 or 2. Since Volition is no longer a thing, maybe the rights holders will do something with the franchise. Saints Row 2 was far and away my favorite of the series. Felt like they embraced being a video game and it found them success against GTA 4.
