midnight
seriously thinking about purchasing 20 acres of land that just hit the market. So many ideas already running through the head about what to do with it. Trees. Plenty of room for corn to grow. Beans. Maybe put up a house or two. It's about 30 miles from where we live, but it could be well utilized. We have to go see it. The ad claims the land is hilly. Which is cool. I'm hoping there's some forestation. Would make for some good hunting. Maybe even purchase a few cows. Steak and milk for days.
PhilosipherStoned
If you have the cash it seems like a solid investment.. and I believe you have some years of wisdom on me.. I thought about doing the same, but then there's only so much you can do by yourself.. I learned a lot about farming, and hunting from my stepdad.. but still it takes dedication to go that route. I don;t have the money to fund a business or anything either so when I saw cheap 'land' like that I didn't want to fall into traps when I actually had the money stashed to do it.

This won't be a trap. It will be purchased from the tax office. It is a solid investment. If nothing else, buy it and sell it for a whopping profit. But I am more interested in the utilization of it. I would like to expand our garden. We have a big garden we plant here, but with that additional acreage, we could plant so much more. Add a few green houses. Some livestock. Some solar panels. We could go off the grid and never really look back.
PhilosipherStoned
Yeah seems nice.. I know disco wanted to try a wildlife/ abandoned pet thing or something like that so it sounds nice. I wish I still lived where you guys are probably at or in a 15 minute driving distance from honestly.. Need animal/ecological tips I guess I got you covered.. I've been looking for a way to pursue my interests in that feild without having to worry about wasting tuition for a degree or I might already be looking at some cool animals for a living.. Maybe I should try to go the vet route here, but meh..

She loves flowers and plants too. Again. I am only passionate about the ones that produce food. Gardening is an awesome thing. I love to plant and pick. Last year, I planted almost 100 tomato plants. We had onions, bell peppers, banana peppers, cayenne peppers, jalapeno peppers, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, okra, and some beans. I'm not doing as many tomatoes this year, and I'm only doing bell peppers and banana peppers. Gonna do the gourd veggies again. Got to brek ground next month. We usually plant right after Easter. PhilosipherStoned
I bought a house here.. and also my dogs.. I don't want to leave them behind honestly. Not for long anyway. One of them had to deal with living with my mother for 4 years.. Hey my mom may not be bad people, but that's still 4 years longer than I'd want to live with her. /Sorry mom. Also when I got back from the military she hadn't done shit really.. idk. I was able to help her get a way higher paying job, and shit. Personal stuff really, but honestly given a solid position that would help me pay for the expense I don't really care. My dogs are pretty much family to me though. I hate to think about someone not giving them the space or attention they deserve.
