I'm thirty minutes outside of it, but depending on the storm system, we'll get hit right before or after Atlanta gets hit, or it skips over us. Our county got rid of the sirens for one year because they thought we rarely see tornadoes actually touch down so why bother. Then there were a bunch of tornadoes that year, including some that landed in our county, and the other counties' sirens were the only warnings our people had to take cover. County officials got hammered with complaints, so our sirens are running again.

Yea our sirens go off every 1st Saturday of the month but the only time I actually here them is not during tornadoes but during high winds warnings
katt_goddess
I guess I'm a little luckier, bad weather is fairly common around here so they just tend to run a ticker on the bottom of the screen and a map 'bug' in the corner showing where crap is really circling. The only time things get fully interrupted is if a town is officially at the center of something horrible or something horrible is entering the area. And by then I'm already watching cows fly by the window so I'm like 'meh' .
