discolé monade
in the spring of 2018, a small scadoxu multiflorus decided it was time to sprout. we are going to explore how this bulb began it's humble beginnings. it was a bulb that wanted nothing more than to present itself to the world. it had big dreams, and big desires. so as show the world it's bright and beautiful petals.

The rainy seasons have been sparse the last couple of years, and the bees have been thinning out. All the odds are against our green friend. discolé monade
but, as nature does, and will, it found a way. temperatures rose quickly this year, and the odds were against our budding friend, then suddenly, without warning, a honey be scout appears. she is tenacious, as she dances on our sprouts small, yet strong leaves.

discolé monade
as it's stalk starts to rise out of the earth, seeking the warm sun, the leaves wrap around themselves, giving the allusion of a stem. we have been tricked, for a moment, by mother nature. as the plant grows, the pseudostem and flower stalk show as a reddish brown, or even sometimes, a violet color, attracting our little scout bee and friends. soon, the bracts will wither and die. ShallowPos
The monkey puzzle. I am an extinct genus of semi tropical plant. No I don't mind if you put your hand in there. Yes take of the wastes my children. It will give you strength in the coming months. Sorry if my thrashing limbs cut you to pieces. I am just that kind of guy. Oh we were talking about my magnanimous out-growth. Well shit. Who wouldn't want a version of me in their boring existence. I'm hypoallergenic.. unlike him -points in the dog's general direction-
