The1gairon
This TIE really confused me as to what was going on.
mochi
yeah this TIE was........lets just call it rushed I don't know that we needed one TIE a year instead of Movies but at the time Toonami thought we did
The1gairon
This TIE didn't reveal any new changes to the status quo, and it left both characters and the ship to the way they were when it started. I honestly have no idea why they insisted to make it. Ratings?
The1gairon
"My SARA". :3 Hurr hurr.
The1gairon
I think the best thing about this TIE is Steve Blum's great portrayal of Depressed TOM. The same character, yet totally different behavior and personality. Steve is great!

Ratings? they committed to not airing any movies and focusing on producing TIE's instead, so this was what we got now they're doing yet another experiment where they're bringing "new things" to Toonami...which could be good or bad depending on if that means we're getting live action or puppets or comedy

mochi
I had actually gone to sleep by the time Scavengers re-aired last week
The1gairon
Scavengers. Apparently this was a short animated by two Titmouse animators as a passion project out of work. Toonami appears to want to make this their new darling (rerunning it, making another installment), and I don't quite understand the appeal. mochi
it's like an American attempt at imitating Masaaki Yuasa's (Mind Game's) style

Blatch
Even if Countdown didn't change the status quo, the ending with the other TOM floating in space definitely feels like a cliffhanger. Whether or not they'll actually build on that for the TIE in 2019 is anyone's guess. As light entertainment, I enjoyed this one. It wasn't on the same level as Intruders 2 and 3, though. It's also cool that they actually aired the full cut of a TIE in its own slot. Come the DST transition in November, they should use the extra hour to air all three the [adult swim] Toonami has done, and maybe a music video or two if there's still time to fill after them.
OwlChemist81
Or maybe go in a slightly different direction and air the Intruder Saga? The original Intruder, Intruder II, and Intruder III? ...naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. If they did that, then maybe some others like Lockdown and Trapped in Hyperspace might get pulled from the vault, even if the Months of Movies in December 2013 and 2014 did kinda allude to Trapped in Hyperspace, and Countdown was similar to Lockdown... Blatch
That would be even better... but I'm not sure if the original master tapes are still available for those events. For all we know, DeMarco just downloaded the VHS captures from Toonami Arsenal in order to show it on Pre-Flight. How do you even know if airing them on TV is legal? Also, only the first two Intruders tell an overarching story. The third one might as well stand by itself.
