Is she old enough to see 300 lb. Misty crossplayers in daisy dukes? O.o

There might be cheaper / safer ways to get her nerd on without having to worry about retinal scarring. Are there any comic stores near you that have pokemon tournaments? She could do league stuff in her age group with potential to advance as she gets better. That would be encouraging her nerdiness without having to worry if she's tall enough to suffer from the fart zone funk of a Con.

Ah, ok. :D

Actually the 'Princess Bride' panels might be fairly kid friendly. It's hard to smut up a movie where no one swears and everyone is dressed in medieval multi-layers. :D

shes a nerd. might as well embrace it.

New York's con isn't until October.  Yours might be in a different state if you're talking about doing that sooner.  Funny, though... People over thirty make up the 2/3 majority at the New York con, followed by the 21 to thirty crowd.  Kids?  If you see three of them the whole evening, you might as well be looking at Bigfoot.  Parents won't spend the ticket price or bother to fill in all the Q&A online to get the tickets.
